Another question can be the data usage.

I have the 2GB data plan from ATT and I end up using only 100 MB a month.

I know I should call and bring down my data plan to 200 MB and I will do it soon. I promise.

I don't own a cell phone and the only time I ever have is when I worked as an ** recruiter since I had to be available all the time, I absolutely despise being available all the time. When I leave the house my wife will ask me to take hers, no thanks. Nothing annoys me more than seeing a room full of people with nobody talking just a bunch of heads buried in phones.

This is an entirely different discussion, but I wholeheartedly agree.

Social skills are going down the crapper.

Being that there's only a $5 difference between the two plans, I'm not sure it's worth it.

My mobile Internet use tops 3GB per month

Wow . My wife and I are on a shared plan, and use about 1GB a month between the both of us. Maybe its because I have our phones set to wifi at home and at the office.

My average data use per month is right around 3GB as well but about 2.5GB is all on WIFI (home and school). Wifi saves me battery power as well.

During MLB season, I buy MLB TV, then my data use gets up to 5GB per month or so, but again, I use WIFI whenever possible even though I am on an unlimited plan.

Im just on wifi at home

October was my first full month with the iPhone 5, so that explains that. With Apple's cloud service they allow you to basically download your entire old phone to your new phone without hooking up to iTunes. I did this and blew through my 5 gig limit without realizing my wifi wasn't turned on (I was at a hospital during the birth of my sons and the wifi was spotty).

I have unlimited data grandfathered through AT&T, but they throttled me down to about 1-2 MB/s for the remainder of the month. To be honest, what they throttled me to was about what I was getting on the 3G service (or what AT&T was calling 4G), so it's not terrible, just not nearly as good as LTE.

The increase in November and December (and part of September) relates to the fact that I don't use wifi at home anymore. LTE is simply faster than my home internet.

I use wifi at home and at work.

SGIII (and I would guess most android phones and maybe even iphone 5) has a setting that lets you cap you limit for a month period and will also give you a warning if you are approaching that limit.

Now I know your service will send a message if you are getting close but the setting allows you to fix it so it will let you know even before the service would.

Just something to consider if you are on a capped plan and don't want to pay extra charges.
