Using the draft simulator at the draftlounge.com, I wanted to see what it would look like if the Cowboys traded out of the 1st round.

I looked at trade partners that had two 2nd round picks. I chose Chicago and I received both 2nd round picks in addition to their 3rd and 5th round picks..

I traded all the remaining 6th and 7th picks in the draft for Seattle's 5th round pick.

I ended up with 9 draft picks all between the 2nd and 5th rounds. I had three in the 2nd, two in the 3rd and four in the 5th.

2-39 DL Walter Nolen
2-41 WR Luther Burden
2-44 CB Trey Amos
3-72 RB Quinshon Judkins
3-76 EDGE Princely Umanmielen
5-148 EDGE Jared Ivey
5-149 DL Jordan Phillips
5-174 RB Ollie Gordon II
5-175 OT Jalen Travis

I didn't realize until it was over that I had drafted Mississippi's entire defense including both EDGEs.

I was looking for a "quantity of quality", doubling up on RB, EDGE and DT

Interesting scenario. I like the players.

Judkins is a former Ole Miss Rebel too. Did you go to college at Ole Miss?

Not a fan of the idea, but after looking at the players you got, I like this idea.

Honestly, it was a coincidence. I didn't deliberately go for specific states or colleges, it just turned out that way. Many times I looked at the Cowboys needs in conjunction with the best available talent at each pick and there was a guy from Mississippi.
