Muck potential! This draft runs amok with playmakers. The nastier the better. :D

1st: DL Nick Fairley, Auburn, 6'4 295 4.84 - 11.5 sacks by a DT? Same dimensions as Rat out of school (looks up to Rat too). And nasty to boot

2nd: DL Stephen Paea, Oregon St, 6'1 305 4.98 - 2x WAC defensive player of the year; quick, strong, relentless, and still improving

3rd: DB Ras-I Dowling, Virginia, 6'2 200 4.40 - WR like ability to get the ball but is also an aggressive tackler; former 1st round projection drops only due to injuries

4th: OL John Moffitt, Wisconsin, 6'4 320 5.51 - Forget the measurables, focus on the tape, this All-American is a beast in the trenches who is versatile & smart enough to excel at either center or guard

5th: RB/FB Alex Green, Hawaii, 6'0 230 4.45 - Just under 1,200 yds & 17 TDs (8.4 ypc); playmaking big back who would replace Felix in short yardage (ultra physical running style but faster than MB3); very good pass blocker and receiver (due to Hawaii's over-emphasis on the passing game)

6th: DB Mark LeGree, Applachian St, 6'0 210 4.49 - Ball hawking FS who loves to hit, 22 career INTs is impressive at any level (first team All-American in 2009 when he snagged 10 INTs)

7th: LB Mark Herzlich, Boston, 6'4 250 4.91 - Former All-American & ACC D player of year is pure intensity, work ethic and instincts; versatile leader who can play both inside & outside; still recovering, body not 100% yet - used to be a beast against the run & a terror in coverage (still totaled 10 INTs his last 2 seasons)

7th: OL David Mims, Virginia Union, 6'8 335 5.35 - Huge but raw and played against lesser competition, but dominated; nasty streak and plays to the whistle

Hate the first two picks. Fairley and Paea are better fits in a 4-3 imo. I just can't see a defensive line of Ratliff, Paea, and Fairley working. Who is going to stop the run? A little undersized. Paea might fit, but can't see Fairley when we already have Ratliff who is a similar player.

I like the first four but not the next four--I would load up on OL after five and maybe take a QB

What are we doing at RT?

I was going to ask the same thing, I'm guessing FA?

I do like the final 3 picks though.

I could live with Fairley in the first if we got a OT in the 2nd. The rest of the draft is fine IMO.

Prefer either Fairley, Quinn or Miller at #9 but failing that, then trade down with Rams for #14 and their 3rd.

Then trade future 1st and a 2011 3rd to move back into top 20.

1st: DL J.J. Watt, Wisconsin, 6'6 290 4.81 - All-Conference (and All-Academic), Team MVP, Lott Winner, led D in several categories including TFL & FF; blocks kicks too; Only 2 seasons at DL but had 4.5 and 7 sacks, very explosive & hardworking, super intense. Former TE, great athleticism & upside, super intangibles

1st: OL Gabe Carimi, Wisconsin, 6'7 315 5.18 - 2x All-American & 3x All Conference, 2010 Outland Trophy Winner (best lineman in nation); natural RT with ability to slide inside, tall but very quick out of stance, nasty run blocker with long arms, supremely confident

2nd: LB/SS Bruce Carter, North Carolina, 6'2 235 4.62 - 2x All-Conference, coming off knee injury so 40 time not his best, great sideline to sideline player who is better in space than close to the LOS, his speed and athleticism could make for a great amoeba player

3rd: OL John Moffitt, Wisconsin, 6'4 320 5.51 - Forget the measurables, focus on the tape, this All-American is a beast in the trenches who is versatile & smart enough to excel at either center or guard

4th: RB/Slot/KR Taiwan Jones, Eastern Washington, 6'0 196 4.33 - All-American & 2x All-Conference, 1700 plus yds & 14 TDs as a senior, former CB turned RB, returned both punt & kickoff for TDs, elusive open field runner, nice stiff arm but easily brought down; great run after catch ability, ultra versatile
