Authorities in California are investigating a mother – who’s creating a firestorm of controversy – for admitting that she injects her 8-year-old daughter with the anti-wrinkle drug Botox.

After Kerry Campbell appeared with her daughter Thursday on ABC's "Good Morning America,” San Francisco’s Child Protective Services was flooded with hundreds of calls from people concerned about the girl’s well-being.

I read about this this morning. What does a mother THINK is going to happen when you go on a national show and tell the world you inject your 8 year old w/ Botox?

Seriously? She will be lucky to keep the child. The SF CSED folks are ALL OVER her now. WoW!


These mothers/and some fathers that participate in these little kid pageants have some SERIOUS screws loose. Most of them should't even HAVE children.

Now, she is a knockout. Absolutely incredible 1/2 Peruvian woman. I was enamored.

Something was wrong w/ her face? One would think that a woman wouldn't post something that different as a profile/FB picture. Im certain if you could tell right away, all of her family and friends could too.

Botox is derived from the poison manufactured by the bacteria, Clostridium, a bacteria so deadly that infected people usually die from the toxins. One form of Clostridium infection is called Botulism.

I've injected lots of Botox over the years into children and it is a very safe medication when used properly.

However, the reason I use it in children is medically approved - for the treatment of focal spasticity associated with cerebral palsy.

The one thing I'll say is that the doctor that did the procedure should be reprimanded as cosmetic use in children is not approved. The mother is ignorant and has a warped sense of values but the doctor should be held accountable as well.

She is the one at fault, she is the mother. To blame society is a cop out, this 8 year old is not a woman she is a child.

This woman needs to be the parent, be the adult, .. and raise that little girl telling her how beautiful she is just the way she is.

She should not have to pay a price for her mothers ignorance.
