Heard on Dan Patrick show this AM per his source. No link to post on this.

I get Moore, but I'm not getting the Quinn hype.

Yes, the defense is better than last year (its can't be much worse), but Diggs alone is skewing our defensive numbers by forcing turnovers. If he wasn't on a historical pace then I believe people would be looking at our defense much differently. We're bottom 3 in pass defense and we're bottom half of the league in yards per carry given up. I firmly believe without Diggs historical start we'd be given up around 30 PPG right now also. Diggs is making things looks better than the really are, in my opinion.

I heard and saw on FS1 yesterday that former NFL QB Carson Palmer said Steelers HC Mike Tomlin is also in the mix for the USC job.

You're essentially saying "if our start player was playing average or bad instead of like a star, our defense would be average or bad."

It's like saying "our amazing QB hides a lot of our offensive deficiencies. If he was just average, our offense would look like crap."

Coaches can only do so much - Quinn is coaching the heck out of a defense that still has some talent issues and probably has it playing better than anyone could expect. You are right - at some point, the defense will get gashed - but anyone who watched 2020 KNEW that would happen. There was no quick fix available here.

To be a successful college head coach, one has to recruit well. Recruiting is 80% of the college game. What do Quinn and Moore know about recruiting? Who would they choose for staff to do the recruiting? Do Quinn and Moore want to spend a lot of their time on recruiting?

Recruiting college players today is a lot of cash under the table, parties, drugs, and alcohol. It is changing now that college players can be paid.

I don’t think Quinn or Moore go the college route.

Diggs is not going to get an INT every game. It's just not going to happen. So, we can't rely on that. We need other guys to step up.

We are not a good defense even with Diggs in there. I'm just saying that without his historical start we might literally be giving up 30 PPG right now and that's not good at all.

I agree completely. The defense is opportunistic and has found various ways to get pressure, but at some point it may run dry. But I don't see that as an indictment on Quinn - he inherited a defense devoid of a whole lot of talent and could only do so many things in the offseason. Diggs being historically good, Parsons getting pressure, Gregory ascending and us hitting on some key free agents (Kearse) has really been more than I can ask.

That’s just a name list shows like that love to throw out. Means almost nothing.
Probably but I do think Moore gets offered an NFL HC job after this season. Don't necessarily think so with Quinn. USC gig will pay very well and the conference is normally weak.

Nobody is hiring Quinn.

Moore will be linked to every job that is available.

LSU will be next at some point followed by whoever fires their coach in the NFL in a few months.

Diggs wont get an INT every game. But you need to stop acting like we havent been playing prevent a lot of the season and its skewing the numbers. Yeah we have given up big plays I am not denying that. But in the 4th quarter, minus the Pats game we have been up by more than 2 scores and Diggs isnt even on the field. lol.

To be honest if KM was going to leave for a College gig I feel like the Boise job would be it for him....Some see the mess that is college football and if they already have a good foot in the door in the NFL it's not worth it. Never know but I doubt he leaves the NFL for that job. Quinn...who knows but I'm betting he stays for a couple years and get back to an NFL HC job that looks not like the Jag's team.

By today’s standards the Cowboys defense is more than good.

Your expectations are not realistic and out dated.

I agree. I would also say that if this was Boise St. I think Moore would be interested, I do not see USC being a team that Moore would leave the NFL for, not when there will be interest by others in the NFL

I think this team's coaching staff is poacher-proof for one more year. They all know this team is about to make history either this season or the next and they want to be a part of it.
