It's a hundred years in the future. Some things have changed, and other things have stayed the same. What's the same is a man tries to find a good woman to marry, and the plan is to stick with her and maybe have kids. What's changed is every person now has a chip embedded in them that keeps track of all the stats on a person's sleeping-with-a-person activity. You're able to get those stats if you're engaged to marry someone.

So you meet in your church a really nice and down-to-earth girl named Emily, and you hit if off really well. She's easy to talk to, kind, attractive, and shares your values. You've met her family, and you find that their moral and upstanding people. After having dated numerous women with awful morals who were hostile, crooked, and just plain obnoxious, it's a breath of fresh air to date Emily. She's different than everyone else. She's your soul mate.

After thinking it over, you buy her an engagement ring and you pop the question. She says "yes," and you're both totally excited. Your best friend then reminds you that you can get Emily's sleep-with stats, but you say, "Nah, I don't need those." He implores you to retrieve the stats, but you tell him to knock it off because you find it somewhat offensive. However, after thinking about it, you decide he's right. Better to know now. Besides, Emily's a great lady. You're sure you'll find out that she has stats that reflect that.

So you apply for the info. Turns out she has slept with ....

5,987 men, 234 women, and 1 golden retriever

Do you go through with the wedding or do you call it off? Why or why not?

So, we're marrying a prostitute?

Quote: "She's easy to talk to, kind, attractive, and shares your values."

If this was the case, what is the dilemma?

Would have been more accurate to say "seems to share your values." Of course, I would just dump her. You'll get some lunatics who say something to the effect of, "Oooooohhhhh, no shaming. It's perfectly normal for someone to sleep with 5,987 men, 234 women, and 1 golden retriever. If you can't accept that, you're a terrible person." LOL, what a crock. I collect guitars. I don't collect STDs.

For those numbers, someone would have had to have either been a prostitute, a porn star, or a lunatic. At the bare minimum I believe a conversation is in order. But you're under no obligation to date or marry someone who doesn't appeal to you. If "ex prostitute who will probably give you an STD" isn't what you had in mind, you're perfectly right to dump her. Don't hate her. Just move on. Who knows if she's even an ex prostitute. Maybe it's her current profession.
