Mosley tabs McCourty for us in mock draft

I honestly do not expect McCourty to be on the board when Dallas is on the clock. I have a source that said the Ravens LOVE McCourty so that could shake things up a little. It could force us to take Pouncey, which wouldn't be a bad thing either.

If that means Odrick makes it to 27, I'm sure the Cowboys would love that.

No doubt. I'm down with Odrick, Pouncey or McCourty @ 27.

Isn't he a pretty good punt returner too?

That he is, and an amazing special teams player, that's why Harbaugh loves the kid, being he used to be the ST coach with Philly. The Ravens coaching staff basically directed McCourty's entire pro day workout.

I'm hoping one of those 3 will be available.

Who's your next choice/dark horse pick assuming we stay at 27?

27. Devin McCourty
Cornerback
Rutgers Jerry Jones hopes a team will want the free-falling safety out of USC (Taylor Mays). If so, the Cowboys will bail out of this pick and trade down. But if they stay at home, McCourty's the player. Great character and a big-time playmaker. The Ravens really surprised the Cowboys by taking Odrick so soon. Dallas loved the former Penn State defensive tackle. Is James Walker reading their mail? (Matt Mosley)

What exactly does this mean?

Jones "hopes" a team will want Mays?

Why would he do that if he really wants him? Does he need to be saved from himself? Is there some compulsion he has that would require a team to keep him from having to make that decision?

So he is saying the guy they really want is Odrick? If thats the case Spears gets dealt sometime the end of the week.

I would be ecstatic if we land Odrick. I would try to package something like Spears with the 27th pick for the 21st pick if the Steelers don't take him, just to get in front of the Ravens and Pats.

Not sure if Spencer would carry that type of value for the Bengals. Can't remember what they have at the defensive tackle position. Especially considering Spencer is only a one year contract.

If I couldn't get a OL guy I really wanted, Odrick would be where I would want to go next. Obviously there are others, but others I seriously doubt we have any chance at. (they will be gone well before the 21st pick)

Assuming the Cowboys couldn't find a trade down partner, the hot name linked to us has been Nate Allen, and he's actually shooting up some boards as of late. I think Allen would be a slight reach, but if you cannot find a partner to trade down, you may have to consider it. I know we also love Tyson Alualu, so that's a name to consider also.

Round 1: Devin McCourty (if he's there)

Round 2: Tyson Alualu (may have to trade a player like Spears to move up, makes sense because Alualu can play the 5 or 3 technique)

Round 3: JD Walton (Cowboys don't think there's much difference between him and Pouncey)

That would be three solid rounds right there.

Who do you like in the first three rounds?

Funny enough,

I want McCourty in Round 1

In Round 2, either Alualu or Sean Lee (I think Pittsburgh really likes him as well, and they pick ahead of us)

In Round 3, JD Walton or T Price (if he lasts that far) or J Jerry. Though I'm thinking that Jerry could go end of Round 2.

He hopes a team would wants Mays so they present Jones with a attractive trade down....(team wants Mays, therfore moves up incasse Dallas wants Mays) lmao at the compulsion comment.

I doubt Alualu makes to our 2nd pick.

You're probably correct.

I think we would have to trade up with either a player, 2010 draft pick, or a 2011 draft pick.

Check out my latest mock which I'll post in about 20 minutes. A trade is involved and the players name begins with S and ends with Pears. :D

i am fine with mccourty but i will personally take pouncey if he there at 27.JJ will probably pick mccourty over pouncey.

If Alualu is indeed a target, we would likely move one of the three ends we have (Spears, Hatcher, Bowen).

As much as you read about Spears, remember the Patriots really liked Hatcher when he was drafted.

Where we are drafting at we will be forced to reach a little for players.

We should not worry about reaching. Where we are as a team, with the talent we have, we have the luxury of reaching for a player by a little bit. So I say at 27 if there ain't some blockbuster OMG player there then we just fill our needs OT, FS, OG and take our best available player that fits there. Hopefully that's Nate Allen :)

Depends on what you mean by reaching.... Will we "reach" for a guy who is only getting drafted in the top 27 every time? Or will we reach for a guy who is listed in the top 27 just most of the time.

What are the chances that:
Russell Okung
Trent Williams
Bryan Bulaga
Anthony Davis
Charles Brown
Maurkice Pouncey
Mike Iupati
Jared Odrick
Eric Berry
Earl Thomas
Joe Haden
Kyle Wilson
Devin McCourty
Kareem Jackson
Patrick Robinson
Dez Bryant
Rolando McClain

A VERY REALISTIC APPROACH... ONE OF THOSE 3 WILL BE A COWBOY... 100% SURE
