I just took this pic in lower Manhattan. It's a 12 foot mountain of snow. Due to perspective (where the lady is standing) it looks a little shorter. When she walked passed it, she wasn't even half it's height.

The street sign (Whitehall) is about 12 feet high.

The blizzard has been making the news here in Texas because of the ball game and New Years coming up. Really was something to see from the comfort of my lounge chair.

It got pretty crazy here in North Jersey too, but my job was still open on Monday ... for a whole four hours, delayed opening and early closing, you would have thought I was still in grammar school haha. What a waste of going to work for a day, those of us who went in got nothing accomplished.

Wow...

I have always thought that people in the South exacerbated the problems of a winter storm because they weren't experienced dealing with that stuff, and most people aren't smart enough to adjust their normal habits because of the weather. It appears that I was wrong. Even people who should know better can be idiots in the snow and ice.

Side Note: Looks like an outdoor Super Bowl in New York in February is a grand idea.

We got 5-7 inches outside of Richmond.

The main roads were fine but our little back street can be a little treacherous with the hills/twists/turns. I think someone on the street has a plow for their truck, because you could tell it had been plowed somewhat by the time I ventured out on Monday.

I live in Red Bank, NJ. We got hammered. I think around 20-30 inches. Hard to determine because the snow is drifting from all the wind. 4 Feet of snow is in front of my car. I had to shovel to get out of my apartment.

Work was cancelled for two days though. That was nice.

I didn't listen to the audio -- didn't even think about that.

It's too late for me to edit, though.

I assume this was the video of the sanitation workers destroying that SUV.

What really pissed me off about that story is that since the truck was city owned, the owner of the truck just completely brushed it off. Afterall it wasn't his money that was going to be spent replacing it and then the Mayor's response of "If you suffer any damage, file a claim." was equally as nonchalant.
