Over the past 10 years, only 8 Centers have been drafted in the first round.

In that time, there was only one year (2108) that two Centers were drafted in Round 1.

2013 - Travis Frederick
2014 - None
2015 - Cam Erving
2016 - Ryan Kelly
2017 - None
2018 - Frank Ragnow, Billy Price
2019 - Garrett Bradbury
2020 - Cesar Ruiz
2021 - None
2022 - Tyler Linderbaum
There have never been 3 Centers taken in the first round of the NFL Draft. Never.

If you consider Graham Barton a Center, it would be unprecedented for Jackson Powers-Johnson and Zach Frazier to be drafted along with him in Round 1.

Thinking about a worst-case scenario with Dallas parachuting to Pick 32, history indicates that it will be extremely likely that a high-quality Center will be available to fill a key gaping hole on the O-line, even if we have to trade back.

I was about to post this!

If center is our goal we can move back a little and make up for the missing 4th
Not sure that is the case. TB, GB and Detroit have expressed interest in JPJ. All had him to at their 30 visits.

The thing is Barton isnt a Center only. He played LT and Guard last season. So his position flex will make him highly regarded.

That leaves only JPJ in the 1st and Zach Frazier who is a 2nd Rounder.

I believe that if Barton is gone by 24 which is likely you either have to draft JPJ at 24 or lose him if you trade back. Than you likely have to take Zach Frazier who is okay but doesnt have the power and nastiness of the former two which we lack.

I am not sure what you have heard about Frazier but I have heard he has plenty of power and also is nasty.

Ive seen the tapes. He gets overpowered quite a lot

SCOUTING REPORT: WEAKNESSES

  • Is a little too much of a waist bender, and Frazier doesn’t play with ideal power and functional strength. Most concerning - he often gets caught dropping his head, a bad habit that will have to be corrected.
  • Lacks elite athleticism and quickness, which could limit effectiveness in schemes requiring extensive lateral movement or space work.
  • His arm length and lateral range are average, potentially giving an advantage to defenders with superior reach.
  • Struggles with strike timing and placement in pass protection, occasionally allowing defenders quick edge access.
  • Shows tightness in hips, affecting his dynamic movement and reactivity in confined spaces.
  • While proficient in many aspects, Frazier's capacity to deal with highly explosive interior defenders on an island is somewhat constrained.

He is also 20 lbs leighter than JPJ

Stout, reliable center with tremendous upper-body strength, good balance, and a brawler’s mentality.

Frazier is a scrapper who has a physical attitude and blocks through the whistle. In the NFL, he should be a plus run blocker at center.

Here are two that disagree
