Queen Elizabeth II and the Pistols have been linked since the punk pioneers released the song “God Save the Queen” during the 1977 Silver Jubilee that marked the monarch’s 25 years on the throne.

The anti-authoritarian anthem — not to be confused with the actual British national anthem of the same name — has been re-released for Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee, or 70 years as queen. It’s one of a raft of cultural tie-ins — critics might say cash-ins — spurred by the royal milestone.

I got a wonderful surprise tonight. On Dallas KERA Ch 13, at 9pm tonight, they aired the hour long documentary Live From The Astroturf, Alice Cooper. It included all of the songs played. I wish they would air it again!!

Hey D/FW friends, Live from the Astroturf, Alice Cooper will make its television debut tomorrow night on the Dallas/Fort Worth/Denton PBS station, KERA! Thanks to Christopher Todd Penn, the original Alice Cooper lineup with Dennis Dunaway, Michael Bruce & Neal Smith, and the fabulous Ryan Roxie, there's no stopping this little movie that shouldn't exist... but it does!

Formed in 1968, the original Alice Cooper became one of the biggest and most important rock bands of their time. After 40 years apart, the original lineup of performers were convinced by Chris Penn, superfan and owner of Good Records in Dallas, to reunite at his store.
Watch 'Alice Cooper: Live from the Astroturf' tonight 10/7 at 9pm on KERA TV.
