I was a teenager in the 60's and it was magical but the 70's decade is the Decade of Rock because of the music that influenced them. The British Invasion, which I credit with the major change and influence, was influenced by American Rhythm and Blues so the 70's musicians were influenced by the end result of that influence. It was once removed and refined into something else and there were more talented composers and musicians emerging in the 70's than any other time in history.

It seems the breakup of The Beatles in 1970 opened the gates and the greatest music of my life came forth. It was a time of wonder because I never knew what was coming next. I thought my favorite band, album, song had just come out when backstage was another yet to emerge.

Couple of things, Disco wasn't bad, some rockers didn't like it but I did and still do, I appreciate it for what it was and what followed, Electronica.

No list is complete of the 70's without Yes.

For me it was the 1950's. Doo Wop/R&B/Blues/Rock N Roll.

The 70's were so rich with great bands and great music, that there was no way I'd remember all of them.

I didn't like or appreciate Disco music when it was happening, but, in hindsight, I now have an appreciation for it, the music of the Bee Gees, etc.

As for Punk Rock, it wasn't until the 80's and beyond that my appreciation for it developed.

I didn't even take time to mention the softer side of 70's music... Carly Simon, Carole King, James Taylor, and Bread.

I was thinking about that too, but I figured you were just mentioning bands to see in concert, just judging by your list.
