Must we always use the Shotgun formation?

Hats off to the offense, and for calling a good game. Let's keep it up. Just have one issue with the constant use of the shotgun formation. At times we did go out of a single back, or spread formation. When we go to a Single back it seems like we often run the ball out of that formation which kind of tips our hat. Is there a reason why we use the Shotgun so much, does it help Dak see the field better or something? Please give your thoughts

Do you want to run a wing T, slot T, nasty slot, wishbone, Nebraska I, inverted bone?

That’s the league today. RPO and spread offense rules. League made it real easy to throw the ball so get used to it.

Dak almost never takes a snap from under center and passes. If he is under center there is a very high likely hood that it is either a run or play-action. But he almost never takes a standard 5-7 step drop.

In year 8 is it safe to assume he can't do it or do we need another decade of "evaluation?"

Most NFL QBs don't, because it takes too long.

If we go macarena formation we can really throw off some defenders.

We needed shotgun to give Dak time to see the field and get off a pass. I have to look and see but they were saying we pass everytime from shotgun and run everytime Daks under center earlier in games. I think we tried to mix it up and I think one of the 3 sacks early was under center trying to pass.

Yes, shotgun formation helps QB's see the field better. Something i've been saying for years is in order to disguise what you are doing you have to run, pass, jet sweep, reverse, out of the same formations. So yes if the boys are in shotgun it's probably 80+ % a pass, then you look at personnel, how the receivers line up etc to drill down what you think the will do.

How do you know what the offense was doing if you didn’t watch the game?
