He had his Aortic Valve Replaced and one Bypass.

I've worked in this Hospital for 23 years...and although I've seen many...it's still weird seeing your Dad on a vent.

Can't wait to Golf with him next spring.

Man his Heart team was precise...Pre and Post OP.

Can't beat Cleveland Clinic Dr's...for Heart Surgery.

I should add that this DR is from Cleveland Clinic but does surgery out of my Hospital...Lake Health.

Hope he recovers quickly, you two will be hooking and slicing drives in no time. ;)

I'm glad he went through OK. Sounds like a tough man.

Thanks...Honestly and I know plenty of people might say this but...I couldn't think of a better father to have...He REALLY is.

I've been blessed.

God bless CC. Hard thing to go through emotionally. Hope he has a speedy recovery.

Thanks.

I appreciate that.

My dad had open heart surgery a year ago. He had actually had a heart attack but didnt know it until two days later when he had trouble breathing and decided to drive to the emergency room. Thats when they ran tests and the doctor determined he had a heart attack. Doctor said he was extremely lucky and had no idea how he was still here. He had 5 clogged arteries and they had to replace his valve. It was hard. Then, to have to listen to the doctors say he may not make it. My brother and sister had to "be tough" for our mother. We did not want to worry her that much. She was a mess. She didnt want to let go of his hand when the wheeled him in for the surgery. My dad tried to stay positive and even made a funny. The doctors were explaining that part of the prep work required they had to shave him and he was like "Hey doctor hold on, we just met" LOL. The recovery was also a tough process. Sorry for blabbing, but reading the headline just brought back memories. Im glad my dad is doing better now and I hope yours has a speedy recovery.

That's what it's all about.

:)

I've got your family and especially your Pops in my prayers CC. If you need someone to talk to shoot me a PM. I've been dealing with Mom's health issues for a few months now and know what you are going through.

I wish the best for you and your family. I'm glad he made it through the surgery. I bet he'll recover quickly. Have fun golfing!

My mother had an Arotic Valve replaced about 3 years ago. While its a scary procedure, its also fascinating and most people make it through. For some the cow replacement is better. But my mother got the kind from a pig that is supposed to last 10-15 years. And then she can get it replaced again.

I know the fear and uncertainty you're going through. But be thankful that things aren't worse and just be there for your dad and show him you love him the best you can.

All I can say is technology has come a long way, and I believe if you search the forum I may have written about this very topic. You should youtube the procedure. Once you see it, you'll probably feel more at ease.

Yes, I know it's your father. But I think if you stay positive he'll feed off that and your attitude could help him make it through this major surgery--and now since he's made it thru the hard part.

I wish you the best. And I pray for you that everything works out well. Heart disease runs in my family. Hos knew my uncle in Tuscon who died from open heart surgery. So I know since you work in the medial field, you know the seriousness. Just keep a positive attitude. And tell your dad if he sees the light to turn away. He can always go back later. I had my mother laughing her head off 5 min before her surgery and everything went fine.

My prayers with your father and family at this time. Praying God will see him through.

God Bless, hope everything goes well and he is back to 100% in no time.

My wife had heart valve surgery 3 or 4 years ago. She went with the mechanical valve since she was only her early 30's.

That's a great tribute, I always felt pretty much the same way about my Dad...

Here's hoping his recovery is swift, and complete...

Medical issues like this are always difficult to deal with, but I'm glad it went well. Best wishes for his speedy recovery!
