How Newman was on Smith about 85% of the defensive plays. Usually Newman stays on his side and Henry stays on his, except in nickle when newman goes to the slot. But he just seemed to follow Smith around. Too bad he didnt get a pick

It does seem that the Cowboys are starting to alter their philosophy a bit in this regard.

I believe Newman shadowed Santana Moss when we played the Skins as well.

That is the same philosophy the Cowboys had when they had Deion Sanders. Take away the other teams best WR. Newman is coming into his
own and should be locked up against the other teams best WR. I give the coaching staff much praise for trusting Newman and making the adjustment.

I hope we can get back to that scheme all the time. I hate it when we have to play zone most of the time. Passing WRs off just gives them huge areas to sit down in & just catch passes. The only way to stop that is a great pass rush, which we don't have AT ALL.

Size and quickness wise it made a lot more sense to match them up with Key and Smith respectively but I must say Newman did a much better job then I thought he would not giving up one big pass to Smith all game and shutting him on in the 4th quarter when the game mattered most. Key got the better of Henry from time to time but in the end it could be argued he lost the game when he dropped that critical 3rd down pass.
