Really like the top 3 picks. Fassel did go to Maryland's pro day watching their kicker.

I've read and heard a few media guys that are at the star talking bout Tyler Lacy and apparently he's going to be a cowboy. Heard they want Rush too. Mayer getting alot of talk, plug and play type te. And if you look at Mayer he fits with how they've drafted. A guy that started out out of reach, and slid a little because of the combine. Happened with Lamb and Parsons. RB is tough to get a grasp on what they're thinking. Cause it looks like they'd run with the card if Bijan is there. But after that it's tricky cause you could miss out targeting a certain type. Teams know this and they could jump you. Like Philly did with Goedert.

I’d love Lacy in the 5th. No problem with him there. Darius Rush is another I am a fan of. I feel they would need to take him in the 2nd as he won’t be there in the 3rd. Dallas typically shows their hand with a lot of picks

IMO, I’d pencil in if available
1st - Michael Mayer, TE Notre Dame
2nd - Darius Rush, CB South Carolina
3rd - Running back here
4th - Devlopmental OL
5th - Tyler Lacy, DT Okla. State
6th - Chad Ryland, K Maryland
7th - Durell Johnson, LB Liberty

I have Mayer as my top pick as well. Was toying with Macy/Rush as well, Rush is one of my pet cats.

Have to commend you. Many times we have philosophical disagreements particularly about ownership and QB. This time I think you came up with highly likely choices in the right places based on visits, media reports, etc. Good job.

I would be happy with this draft. Rush is my petcat and Mayer while being a boring pick and not my first choice would still help improve both the pass and run. We lost a winnable game to San Fran because all we had was Lamb after Pollard was taken out. Pitt RB would pair great with pollard as well.

Legitimate realistic draft. I could see the draft happening this way with different names. Keep in mind the Cowboys have plenty of money to spend on one year contracts for free agents that can help on both offense and defense. I see you snuck Isreal in as your starting free safety. Interesting….

Hooker lost that extra gear. It’s time to move on from that. He isn’t bad but he gets beat deep now, cause that injury took something from him

Can Isreal play deep safety? Probably a better question does Quinn trust him there.

I think he’s better suited at the closer to the LOS.

To my knowledge, one of his issues with being so tall is change of direction. So playing deep safety would be tough changing directions

If they don’t spend a top pick on an OL capable of starting immediately I’m a lot less encouraged about the upcoming season.

Forget the damn tight end if need be.

And if things fall that way then just pass on OL altogether. The project OL room is full.

I think Mayer will go in the late teens and all the Mayer fluff will be gone

I want Chandler Zavala in day two.

But I really wouldn’t mind signing Dalton Risner to a two year deal if we don’t land a LG. 27 years old, 62 out of 64 games started so he is durable. Not the best in pass pro, but graded top 10 in the league in run blocking and only one penalty.

I would rather go this route than reach for a player.

Rather than reach in the draft? Without a doubt.

Depends on one’s perception of the word. Fred was considered that at the time. I wouldn’t mind a guy like Avila at 26 even though some will complain the “value” wasn’t there. Then he starts making pro bowls and 10-15 draft slots isn’t a big deal.

Sorry for more clarification I mean reach on a guy around day 3 and think he will plug and play LG.

Any guy like Torrence, Avila, Bergeron, Schmitz, Zavala I feel we may have to over draft to get.

I just wouldn’t want a guy like Avila at 26.

That’s where we would disagree.

I’d be happier with Avila over Mayer at 26, if we are going to safe route.

It really all just starts up front and I’d rather have a beast of an OL and roll with Fergushot at TE if need be. One of those monsters paired with Tyler for the next decade is fine by me.

If one of the top tackles slides everyone is happy.

Couldn’t really complain if Zay Flowers slides either. Can’t see them passing on him.
