In the first round I want a guy who touches the ball, a playmaker to help the offense. I am all about the trenches but we have 3 very good tackles and one will end up on the bench. Interior lineman can wait till the 2nd round. We need to come away with a starting RB (can't count on Pollard, those that do just don't know), we also need to come away with a true deep threat to open up this offense even with the shortcomings at QB. I am not one of those guys that thinks we need a TE and honestly I wouldn't touch the position till round 4 or later. There will be zero drop off from Shultz to Ferguson and Hendershot is a nice target at #2 with McKeon at TE3. Don't see the weird fetish at that position at all, never did - when we wasted 2nd rounders every season.
If it's me Im going RB/WR round 1, interior Oline unless a tackle or top defender falls round 2 and then back again RB/WR round 3 which ever I missed out on in the 1st. Now I don't think Bijan makes it to us in round 1 and I don't see him getting past the Vikings. So in order to trade up your gonna have to part with at least your 3rd rounder and most likely your 2nd. Considering we aren't likely to do so here is how I would look to use our picks.

Round 1 Jaylin Hyatt WR
Open up the offense, take the top off the defense and make them pay when they go 1-1. Would open up things for Cee Dee and help Dak and the running game. This is my guy if Bijan is gone, I could understand Gibbs here too but for me you could get a RB later in the 2nd or 3rd who could produce. I could see us trading down pickup up a 3rd and still getting Hyatt but right now I'm projecting without trades.

Round 2 Steve Avila G/C or Matthew Bergeron OL
If Avila is here to me it's a no brainer. I even think he would be the right pick over Torrence because he could be your center next season if Biadiaz leaves. If all the top tackles are gone and Avila and Torrence are gone I turn to Bergeron and kick him inside. Also wouldn't be against Schmitz at C if available. Either way with us stacked at tackle I look to help out our interior. Other options for me is if a top defender slips Sanders, Simpson, Forbes etc.

Round 3 Israel Abanikanda RB or Kendre Miller RB
This is were I go RB if we don't land Bijan or Gibbs earlier. To me Izzy is a sleeper and to get his 20 year old talent here would be a steal. His burst and vision are top notch. Miller has also been so under valued by draft sites. This guy can play and would easily be a top 2nd rounder if he participated at the combine. Either way this is were I land my STARTING RB. No way can you count on Pollard and whoever gets selected here will easily split half the touches with Pollard.

Round 4 Hunter Luepke FB
Yeah, gonna get the backlash but look at it this way, your getting a starter in the 4th round. Go look at our last 10 4th rounders, heck go look at our last 10 3rd rounders. This guy could impact the offense in the same way as Juszczyk for the 49ers. He could help on offense and special teams and me I don't want to miss out on him going early in round 5 so yeah, get over it.

Round 5 Jerrod Clark NT
Had a great senior bowl, very active big man with huge wingspan. Should spell then replace Hankins.

Round 6 Max Duggan QB
Cause the Joneses said so and he's actually not a bad pick here. Imagine drafting 3 TCU guys.

Round 7 Bumper Pool LB
I want Drew Sanders but will settle for his teammate.

So you think our D is pretty much set. I think waiting until the 5th round is OK for a 2 down NT, but Quinn might want to pick somebody sooner.

You need a CB who can takeover for Gilmore who is 32 years old.

Excellent draft

Hyatt will be an early starter and puts our WR group on par with the ones that went to the conference championship games.
Avila will be a safe pick and an upgrade to McGovern very early
Abanikanda is my third favorite RB
Luepke is your work horse back
Overview
Versatile fullback with experience as a tailback, tight end and Wildcat option. Luepke is a jack-of-all-trades who has posted an impressive touchdown-per-touch ratio as both a runner and pass-catcher. He’s expected to test well and has the ability to compete for reps as a core special-teamer. While he has soft hands and has shown some route-running savvy, he will need to prove himself as a lead blocker if he is to excite NFL offensive coordinators.
Strengths
  • Above average athletic ability and explosiveness for position.
  • Versatility could allow for expanded usage.
  • Continues to churn legs through initial contact as runner.
  • Very capable receiving threat out of the backfield.
  • Impressive route savvy to create space.
  • Plays with sticky hands and plus ball-tracking.
  • Special teams experience in all four phases.
Clark is an excellent day three pick for NT

Bumper Pool is a tackling machine, but I think he goes undrafted, mainly because of having surgery on both hips.

Appreciate the work, but I'm not a fan:

-Hyatt to me is a younger version of Brandin Cooks, don't see him as a future #1 receiver and won't take any of these receivers in rd 1, cause they all are good #2's.

-Don't like day 3 at all. Luepke, Clark are more late day three players. Willis is the one they have shown interest with as that FB/TE.

I like it, and am not sure it is as far off as many think.

WR -- is a position Dallas would use a #1 pick on, and Hyatt is definitely a threat
OL- I like OL in 2
RB - Not my pick for RB, but I like RB in the 3rd
FB - I think this is over drafting him, but I like the player, and think he could help a MM offense.
DT - Doesn't Dallas always take a NT late
QB - What seemed like Jerrys favorite. I think he is a great Backup QB, but I also think that is his ceiling.
LB- Got to get one sometime, too late for me but I like it.

Overall, a pretty good draft, IMO. Just not the players I would have picked there always.
