If I wrote/typed all of my thoughts about WWE's MITB last night, It would be the longest post in CZ history. So, I'll just post in bits and pieces.

First, some background facts about me.

I'm a 64-year-old physically disabled male living in an assisted living facility near Dallas. If I want to go somewhere, I usually have to call a company I know to get me there. This is what I did here.

I had a couple of clues that this was not going to be one of my better nights. First, there are a number of assisted living facilities in the neighborhood I live in. The driver who was going to take me to Fort Worth for MITB went to the wrong facility.

The drive took about an hour.

The second clue that things were not going to go well happened when we got to the arena. As soon as I got out of the van, it started to rain.

More to come.

To continue my story, the driver and I get to the arena. As soon as I get out of the vehicle, it starts raining. Fortunately, I saw an arena employee who led me to a side door marked with the handicapped logo.

Since my seat is on the floor, that means I have to take an elevator. I go down a long hall to get to the elevator. As I'm going down the hall to my right, there is a man who looks exactly like Jerry The King Lawler talking to a lady. If the guy I saw wasn't Lawler, he has an identical twin. I reach the elevator and get to my seat, which is front row just off to the right of the ring. It's not quite 5:00 yet, so I have a wait for the show to begin.

Next post: The matches.

Pre-show match: The Usos vs. The Mysterios for the Smackdown Tag Team Championship:

Good match. The crowd was into it. Things went back and forth. Jey Uso gets the pin on a roll up on Rey Mysterio while Jimmy Uso puts his feet on Jey Uso's back. The ref didn't see a thing. I guess he left his seeing eye dog at home.

Good match, but it could have been longer.

More on the matches last night after RAW.

Women's Money in the Bank Ladder Match: Asuka vs. Naomi vs. Alexa Bliss vs. Nikki Cross A.S.H. vs. Liv Morgan vs. Zelina Vega v. Natalya vs. Tamina: A fun match. Every woman had a chance to win the match, but it was Nikki Cross A.S.H. who climbed over all the other women to win the briefcase. A surprise winner. I would not have picked her to win it.

Raw Tag Team Championship: A. J. Styles and Omos vs. The Viking Raiders: Styles did most of the work for his team, since Omos is still limited in his wrestling moves. Omos hits the powerbomb and Styles and Omos retain the tag belts. Looks like they'll retain the belts for the foreseeable future. A good tag match, but I prefer the opening match between the Usos and the Mysterios that started the night off.

The WWE Championship: Bobby Lashley vs. Kofi Kingston: Kofi couldn't generate much offense in this match. Lashley puts Kofi to sleep with the Hurt Lock. Lashley retains the belt. Who can defeat Lashley?

RAW Women's Championship: Rhea Ripley vs. Charlotte Flair: This match started kind of slow. At one point early in the match, the crowd started chanting, "We want Becky." Charlotte turned around and gave the crowd the middle finger. Things went back and forth with both wrestlers going after the others knee. However, it was Flair who wrapped Ripley up in a figure 8 leg lock to become the new champion. Some say it was the best match of the night, but I don't agree.

Men's Money in the Bank Ladder Match: Ricochet vs. John Morrison vs. Riddle vs. Drew McIntyre vs. Big E vs. Kevin Owens vs. Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Seth Rollins: This was my favorite match of the night. I have no idea how Ricochet, Morrison, and Kevin Owens can do the high flying moves they do. About midway through the match, Jinder Mahal and his two goons, Veer and Shansky, started beating up on McIntyre and took him to the back. He was not seen in the match again. Rollins looked ready to grab the briefcase, but Big E grabbed him and hit the Big Ending off the ladder. Big E climbed the ladder and got the briefcase for the win. Another surprise winner. Wasn't expecting him to win.

Universal Championship: Edge vs. Roman Reigns: This was a wild one, with action in and out of the ring. At one point, Reigns hits a Superman punch that knocks Edge into the referee's knee. Both wrestlers tried to hit a assisted crossface with the leg broken off of a metal chair. At one point, with the referee still out, the Usos get in the ring to help Reigns, but the Mysterios run them off. Then, Seth Rollins runs in and gives Edge a superkick. Reigns hits a superkick, but Edge counters with one of his own. Rollins runs back to the ring apron, diverting Edge's attention. When Edge's back is turned, Reigns hits a spear to retain his title.

After a few minutes, the lights flicker, and out comes John Cena. The crowd goes wild. Cena enters the ring and walks toward Reigns. Cena does his You Can't See Me gesture, the two wrestlers stare each other down, and the show ends.

My next post will be a rant.

In school, my program had a "Service Learning" component. Every year we had to partake in a community outreach activity arranged by the school. One year we partnered up with a local assisted living facility and we would do various things to help get the residents to stay engaged. We put on a casino night as our finale, and the appreciation shown to us by the residents was through the roof. Some loved the games, some loved the engagement with others, but I think nearly all of them loved to get the opportunity to talk to new faces. It was something else.

I'm glad you were able to get out and have a night for yourself, bad parts and all.

The show ends, so I call the driver to come pick me up. He informs me that the roads around the arena are all blocked up, and I'll have to wait until he gets there. After about an hour wait, he arrives.

I arrive at the facility about 12:30 AM.

A brief rant:

As the night went on, more and more people were standing around the ring making it impossible to see, especially during the Reigns-Edge bout. I couldn't even see the last 10 to 15 minutes of the match. I had to go to YouTube to see what happened. Remember that I'm sitting in my motorized wheelchair. I know I'm tilting at windmills here, but I wish able-bodied people would have more empathy for people less fortunate than they are.

So, when WM comes to Jerry World in April of 2022, will I go? I'll have to think about it long and hard.
