I rarely post on here anymore. Well, I'll respond to threads but don't start them. I'll start by saying this, Jerry Jones and Stephen Jones have to own this. The last 27 years are on them. They are the common denominator here. The Super Bowl standard is no longer here. The standard after the last 27 years is to make the playoffs and win a playoff game. This is what I posted on Twitter.
After sleeping on it, I know Cowboys fans are disappointed and I'm one of them. However, this is how it was always going to end.
I look at the two teams remaining in the NFC and the stark difference between them and the Cowboys is the approach they have to build their teams to win now. Those two teams are just more talented than Dallas, especially this year on the offensive side of the ball.
I hate to rehash the trade, but it all goes back to Amari Cooper and their failure to replace him. They drafted a guy at WR who was inactive for most of the year. They rushed a guy back who was less than a year off ACL surgery and it was obvious when you look at his production. It was obvious when you see his inability to separate or make more of his tough catches.
Your #3 option and sometimes #2 option was a guy who never caught more than 10 balls in a season. It's no surprise Dak felt like he had to be more aggressive and his INTs increased drastically. Look at the windows that Jalen Hurts throws to. It's hardly ever a tight window. Everything it seems is a contested throw here.
Don't get me wrong, Dak was terrible last night and I don't know if he has peaked. What I do know is he has peaked under Kellen Moore. It's time for a divorce on that front. He's the only thing left from the Garrett Era and no one is going to hire him as HC. He's gotta go.
At the end of the day, until Jerry and Stephen stop penny-pinching when building this roster, this will be the result. This has been the result going on 28 years under their ownership. This is their standard. There is no SB or bust standard in Dallas anymore. This is ****** it.
