A quad strained will keep second-round linebacker Sean Lee out of practice for a few days, but Pro Bowler DeMarcus Ware doesn't think it will slow the Penn State alum's progress.

"He's coming along really well," Ware said. "He's really aggressive. He reminds me of a little Keith (Brooking), to be honest. He's real smart. He's not the biggest guy out there, but he's always around the ball."

Lee is expected to compete with second-year player Jason Williams for duty on obvious passing downs and chip in on special teams.

The Cowboys players have some funny nicknames for each other.

Sean Lee is Little Keith.

I liked how Andre Gurode and them were calling Felix Jones, Benjamin Button and Uncle Felix because he looked so old.

DezMania is alive and well (and with good reason).

But I think Lee is going to be a very good player for us, which we need, since this could very well be Brooking"s" last year.

I still have a lot of hope for Williams too. If he can pan out, the athleticism/pass rushing ability of a Ware-Williams-Lee-Spencer quartet is amazing.

Lee is competing with Williams.

Sounds as if the competition is already over from the early reports.

Williams can't seem to cover and Lee has picked things up really well.

Williams is more of a blitzer. Lee is just an all-around dude.

Two very different responsibilities at those ILB spots in the 3-4. I always figured that Williams was going to be Bradie's replacement and at the time, if Brooking went down that Carp would be his replacement. Williams will be there to stonewall blockers, eat up the run and short zone coverage and some blitzing.
