ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) — The NCAA announced a four-year show-cause order for former Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh on Wednesday for impermissible contact with recruits and players while access was restricted during the COVID-19 pandemic, effectively banning him from college athletics until August 2028.

The NCAA said Harbaugh, who left his alma mater to coach the Los Angeles Chargers after last season’s national championship, “engaged in unethical conduct, failed to promote an atmosphere of compliance and violated head coach responsibility obligations.”

I am kind of ambivalent about this. the NCAA is a rotten organization; only going after select schools and then very haphazardly. You notice who is not subject to any investigations at all and with as byzantine as the rules are any more, I doubt any school is truly clean. they go after people who do not kiss their rings basically.

100% agree, but at the same time I find it messed up that a coach can do near murder and then flee to the pros to avoid any consequences…oftentimes leaving the school to deal with the penalties.

Just keep in mind. This is not the only thing the NCAA will do to Michigan.
It has already been stated that form OC and now HC S.Moore deleted over 50 text messages with Connor Stallion.
So that new HC will probably miss a few games.

He got in more trouble because he lied. Jim Tressell got a 5 year showcause because he lied to the NCAA about his players trading their own memorabilia for tattoos. Don't lie to the NCAA when they are holding the receipts.

This is only the beginning too. After the Connor Stallions thing is over, there will be gambling allegations against a former assistant coach.....and once that is over there will be allegations of an opposing teams stolen practice footage found on a former assistant coach's computer....at least those are the rumors. No clue if its true or not.
