If you guys get a minute could you go to http://www.mtrs.us and let me know what you think about the logo I am using for my start up racing series? If you don't want to watch the flash intro just jump to the end. I have gotten feedback from motorsport fans, but feedback from non traditional fans is important and I respect most the opinions on this board.

Thanks,

Jon

I want the folks here to help you out so I'm going to sticky this for 1 week. I hope that will help you.

Okay, I watched the movie intro. It was good but if I were you I'd hold the images on screen just a little bit longer. They're gone before you even figure out what you're looking at in some of them.

The music you chose is very good for the product.

On to the logo. I think the chrome wings coming from the tire. They look real good. I'm not crazy about the color gold for the MTRS, but it isn't bad. have you tried any other colors.

I think overall it will have the effect you want and it is a good logo.

I am with Hos...the images need to go a tad slower, they flash to fast.

I LOVE the chrome wings, but I am a chrome junkie.

It does look good, but it remind me of the Redwings logo...

Nice. Very nice. I'm not a bandwagon kinda dude but what Hos and Brain said........It would help. Leave the logo alone. Perfect.

honestly the only thing i can complain about was the flash movie loading time :p other then the loading time it's good, the gold lettering like state before is a iffy but its still good, over all i give u an "A-" to "A"...muy bien

I've got tell you I have been a corporate identity and logo junky for years. But it never occured to me analyze logos and imagery from motor sports.

The question you need to ask yourself is:

Can I reproduce my logo with consistency in all the media I plan to use? In my opinion, you should want instant recognition no matter where or how you use your logo. If you can reduce the number of colors you use and still be happy I would do that.

Now that you have come to an NFL forum looking for input, consider any NFL team logo and the great array of media it must be reproduced in with consistent instant recognition.

Now that your logo has finished loading and I have examined it...

I would say get rid of some of the detail in the wings if it must be reproduce in a variety of media to avoid visual confusion with the fans.

Limit yourself to three colors, two is better.

Consider some of the big national/international companies simple two color logos. sometimes one.

Avoid detail. Capitalize on something unique and creative such as the style of the letters MTRS.

If the artist put as much effort in to MTRS as was put into the wings you may find a new creative door open.

I could go on. I find this subject one of the most facinating ever.

It really comes down to what you are trying to achieve.

Again, your logo looks great!

I hope that helps.
