If Mikhail Prokhorov has his way, Mike Krzyzewski will be coaching his last collegiate game Monday night ve. Butler. Al Iannazzone reports that Prokhorov will waste no time once approved later this month and offer the Duke coach a contract worth between $12 and $15 million a year. Under one scenario, Krzyzewski would serve as both head coach and general manager.

Iannazzone quoted an NBA executive as saying, "You got a high profile owner who is going to want a high-profile coach." Krzyzewski has resisted previous NBA offers, including one for five years and $40 million . What's Plan B, if the 63-year-old coach says no...as he says he will? The usual candidates, reports Iannazzone: Jeff Van Gundy, Avery Johnson and Villanova's coach, Jay Wright

Wall, Terrence Williams, Lebron, Amare, Lopez Coach K

Coach K if he does go to the NBA will be Rich Petrino all over again. Nice guy won't be able to handle the egos that come with the NBA.

He has coached team USA and they say that is part of the reason he has changed some with his style with dealing with players once back with Duke.

12-15 million is something that would have to tempt even coach K. If he fails, he fails in the NBA and would have a pick of the litter of college teams that would hire him as a fall back.

Now he has resisted before when be money has came to call but nothing of this magnitude. Add into that the idea that maybe he wants another challenge.

Time will tell I guess.

Coaching NBA players, who are their voluntarily, for a few months in the summer for a Gold Medal is quite a bit different then coaching NBA players for an entire season to obtain better contracts and a World Championship.

However, most highly driven and successful individuals like Coach K are constantly finding way to motivate themselves and find new challenges. You can bet deep down inside, some part of him wants to prove that his system could work at the professional level.

Coach K leaves Duke....Calipari takes over at Duke stating it's his dream job :laugh2:

Coach K has already said he never wants to leave Duke, and it's the best of both worlds getting to coach the best players in the Olympics. Why on earth would he want to ruin that?

Kentucky then gets put on Probation and Calipari acts shocked about the reason.

Petino was just certain that he would get the first pick of the draft and then be able to get Tim Duncan and build a dynasty around him. He did build a solid team, but they didn't go anywhere. After he left he said not getting Duncan really deflated him.
