Tommy Tuberville telling it like it is. I hope we leave and go to a conference where we will get more money and be on equal footing. All the hubabaloo that UT and A&M (ESPECIALLY A&M) get is absurd.

We've been far superior to A&M on the field for a good 7-8 years now and for us to continue getting stepped on is BS.

Nobody can hear Tech out in the middle of nowhere. :)

The reality is that Tech will never be on equal footing with the established big boys of football no matter the conference. There is a hierarchy to college football and we all know it. Tech is not in that upper most tier. And the hierarchy is not just about what happens on the field. There are several other factors involved. I am not saying that Tech should just accept not being in the top tier, but it is something they will always have to deal with.

I do not think the Big 12 is serious about staying together. I feel like this was just a stopgap move and UT, TAMU and OU will be moving on as soon as the rest of the NCAA decides to create their mega-conferences. If the Big 12 wants to survive they will expand back out to 12 team immediately and start exploring options to expand to 16. Because of the recent instability the Big 12 has shown to be a conference than can be poached instead of doing the poaching.

And TAMU gets the "hullabaloo" because of history that cannot be erased in 7 or 8 years. Only three schools have won the Big 12 south: UT, OU and TAMU. How is your basketball team doing? Haven't made it to the second round of the tourny since 2004? TAMU has made it to the 2nd round in each of the last 5 years and made the sweet 16 in 2007. I won't even bother you with Tech's amazing baseball team...

TAMU beats Tech 9-1 in National Championships and 44-10 in Big 12 championships across all sports. You tell me why TAMU gets the hullabaloo.

Oh, and TAMU's endowment is about 6 times bigger than Tech's.

I agree. I think this was just a stop gap deal until something better comes along. It may take 5 years or so, but there will be future changes.

A&M brings viewers, the more money you bring in, the more money you get. thats the way it should work, if you want everybody to make the same money your out of your mind cause there is no way schools like baylor should get as much as OU, texas etc.

The Big XII won't stay together because it's the only conference in the NCAA that ACTIVELY attempts to build resentment, class divisions and bad blood within it's conference by not splitting revenue equally, with a few teams openly and unapologetically exploting the have nots. Thus you have absolutely no cohesion or commoderie among the programs and everyone is looking for a better place. I don't see programs in the Big X, Pac 10, SEC, ACC or Big East .. where money is split evenly .. openly and actively soliciting bids to get out of their conference and go elsewhere the way Nebraska, Colorado, Missouri (and now apparently Texas Tech) did. And don't think Kansas, who were apparently caught a little off guard at the lack of interest, isn't going to be burning the phonelines from here on out looking for a new home.

And TAMU gets the "hullabaloo" because of history that cannot be erased in 7 or 8 years. Only three schools have won the Big 12 south: UT, OU and TAMU. How is your basketball team doing? And I think Kansas and Kansas State would laugh at the notion that A&M deserves to be paid more because of their college basketball exploits. A&M gets paid more because it's all comes down to politics and the Big XII brass and the powerbrokers in Texas are more crooked than a barrel full of snakes.

Kansas has reason to talk strictly because of their basketball program(18 of the school's 22 conference championships), but K-State with their zero national titles and 7 Big 12 titles can laugh all they want.

Uh, yes, if you go back 50 years.

Wake up, 2010 is calling.

TAMU might want to win a few games this decade before they claim superiority over anyone.

The Big 12 will stay together because the Texas schools and Oklahoma want to keep all the Texas talent in their reach. Expansion into other places makes recruiting easier for those other schools.

Recruiting leads to wins and tv revenue.

oh and read this... A&M not a big draw anymore for tv:
http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/sports/barron/6681974.html

The sheep-humpers were given a bigger slice of the pie because they had an SEC invite, not because they draw audiences. TU ratings are higher than TAMU in Houston snd LSU is right there with them.

I don't begrudge TAMU, TU or ZeroU for getting bigger slices as they all had other offers at big money and the league needed all 3 back to remain alive.

I'm sure he's talking about the recent golf, tennis and track and field titles. Like anyone gives a ****.

TAMU >>>>>> Texas Tech ;)

if u mean sheep >>>>>> hot chicks then yes, that is correct.

:lmao2:

Tech's biggest drawback is that it is in the middle of no where but the school itself is quite nice and while not a great academic institution that really lends itself to being an enormous party school.

My first cousin once removed received her doctorate from Texas Tech. I was there for her graduation. That was around the early to mid 90s believe.

if tuberville doesn't like it i say let him and tech leave if they want, if they can get a better deal elsewhere, more power to tech. but i doubt they will get a better deal when they end up in the MWC. wanting the same money as everybody else sounds like communism to me

Everthing about Texas A&M sucks. There is absolutely NO DIVERSITY on that campus. It's literally THOUSANDS of the same middle-class white kids walking around on that brainwashed "A&M...A&M...A&M" robot ****. And yet...these little **** will take a bullett for their beloved Aggies...GAY!!

If the Big 12 had been around for 50 years you might have a point, but since it is only 15 years old your comments just look silly. I will not deny that the Tech football program has enjoyed some recent success, but that is hardly a measure of how good the athletic program is. What else has Tech been better than TAMU in? Fact is TAMU has a top 25 athletic program while Tech barely manages to get into the top 50.

Yeah, it is more ethnically diverse than Texas Tech. Good job!
