New WikiPedia design

It's been so long since I have been to their homepage I can't remember what it used to look like.

If Jeff Foxworthy's schtick was about being a complete geek, I think this thread would be one of his jokes.

"If you've ever spread the message that Wikipedia updated its format on some random message board........"

I don't like the change at first glance. The search button is in the upper right, not to the the side like it was before.

So instead of a 1991 design....its now a 1992 design. NICE!

At least it doesn't have Flash on it. All Apple iPad / iPod users can breath a sigh of relief! :laugh2:

I don't think I've ever actually used the search function. I just google what I'm searching for and add "wiki" to the end of my search string.

For example, if I'm looking for Tony Romo's Wiki page I google: "Tony Romo wiki"

Or you could just type Tony Romo in the search engine and the wiki link is usually at or near the forefront.

That was just an example. It isn't always the case that the Wiki pages is one of the top results for any particular search, so adding "wiki" to the search string increases the odds.

Sometimes I'm on Wikipedia and want to search for something related to what I'm looking at but not linked. So I use the built in search function on the site.

Thanks for the tip on adding "wiki" to the Google search though.

True. But that is usually for new celebrities.

Same here.
