So SD had 61 sacks last year compared with our measely 35 or so. While I don't expect us to reach that level, I certainly hope for betwen the high 40s to mid 50s. This year Ware will show all doubters that he's a far better player then Merrymen and doesn't have to use steroids to get there. I'm sure Phillips will fall in love with Ware immediately. I also think Phillips will know how to use Roy Williams and many others on defense in a way to fit their individual strengths. Hopefully he brings along a few SD defensive players who can help out as well as Deihlman their RG who quality young player who will be major upgrade at our weakest point on OL.
We will now have the right defensive scheme which allows us to pressure all those NFC East QBs like McNabb, Eli Manning & that kid in Washington. They haven't seen anything like the defense Phillips will ensure is run, no matter who he designates as his DC.
