1. The Eagles have clinched the playoffs, but can clinch the NFC East division and the #1 seed with a victory today.

2. Both the Vikings and the 49ers have clinched playoff berths and their respective divisions, but their positions in the playoffs has yet to be determined. They will be the #2 and #3 seeds, but they are fighting over their positions. Both teams still have a shot at the #1 seed if the Eagles and Cowboys lose out.

3. The Cowboys have clinched a playoff spot, but can still clinch the division and either the #1, #2, or #3 seed if they win out, and the Eagles lose out. If the Eagles win today, the Cowboys will clinch the #5 seed today.

4. Tampa Bay will clinch the #4 seed today if they beat the Panthers. If they lose, they can still win the #4 seed if the Eagles beat the Saints today, the Saints beat the Panthers next week, and the Buccaneers win against the Falcons next week.

5. The New York Giants can clinch the #6 seed with a win today.

6. The Commanders can clinch the #7 seed with a win over the Browns today, plus losses by the Lions, Seahawks, and Packers. Otherwise, the Commanders will be the #7 seed if they win out.

Bottom line: All the NFC playoff teams could be decided by the end of the day, all but the order of the #2 and #3 seeds could be decided also.

Wrong, the Cowboys can win the 1, 2, or 5 seed. They need the Eagles to lose to still have a chance for the 1 or 2 seed.

As much as we need the vikings to lose in case we win the division. But I want GB to lose to knock them out of the playoffs.
This is why I want Washington to win as well. To not allow GB any hope in they make the playoffs.

Panthers over TB will be great, as well of course NO over Philly.
Need Colts to beat the NYG, so it gives NYG something to play for against the Eagles in week 18.

Would like to see SF drop a game also.
A Detroit win over Chicago can hurt GB as well Washington chances also.

Update: The Buccaneers have clinched the 4th seed with their win over the Panthers, as expected. Carolina has been eliminated.

The Saints are technically still alive, but a Packers win over the Vikings will eliminate them. If both the Lions (who blew out the Bears today) and the Packers are 8-8 after today, and they play each other next week, both teams cannot finish with 9 losses. I haven’t checked the tie breaker scenarios, but a Packers win would mean that the only way the Commanders can get into the playoffs is with a Packers/Lions tie next week. But they might be eliminated anyway, depending on tie breaker scenarios. The Lions need to win next week, plus have a loss today or next week by the Seahawks.

Just checked tie breaker scenarios. If the Packers win, both the Commanders and Saints are eliminated. If the Lions, Packers and Seahawks all win today, as seems likely at the half of the afternoon games, they will all be 8-8. Here are the week 18 scenarios for the final NFC playoff spot.

Green Bay wins and they’re in.

Seahawks are in with a win and a loss or tie by the Packers.

Lions are in with a win and a Seahawks loss or tie.

Cowboys win the #1 seed with a win over the Commanders and an Eagles loss to the Giants, and a loss by the 49ers.

Currently, both the Vikings and 49ers are behind in their games. The 49ers have the tie breaker over the Vikings if they finish with the same record.

We can't rely on the NY Giants to do us any favors so I'm of the mind we will be the 5 seed and travel to Tampa Bay for the wild card round of the playoffs.

Giants will be resting all their starters. Vegas opened up with Eagles -13.5. Giants are locked into that 6th seed nothing to play for. If the Eagles did lose we move up to the 2nd seed and more then likely would get GB (if they beat the Lions at home next week) or we would get the Seahawks

I think Detroit has every chance to win in GB . Problem is Seattle plays the Rams , they have the cruise ship tickets and golf clubs out . Looks like 2 NFCE Wildcards plus Pete Carroll working on that chewing gum wildcard weekend .

5 seed it is. I'm okay with that.
