Quite from Albert Breer - You might have never heard of the guy I had to keep moving up. I mentioned UTSA edge rusher Marcus Davenport—a 6' 7" freak of a receiver-turned-pass rusher—a few weeks back. I didn’t have him in my early November mock. I put him at the end of the first round in the initial list I put together this time around, and then multiple execs told me he’s not getting out of the Top 15. I wound up putting him at 14, behind only Chubb among rushers, and Davenport clearly has a chance to rise higher.

Hate to admit it...I...agree with Broaddus.

Davenport is not just an athlete. He's unusually well developed as a pass rusher. He's not just racing around slow OTs.

Went looking for who's coaching him. The DL coach -- Bo Davis -- coached DL for Mack Brown at Texas (2011-2013) and Saban at Alabama (2007-2010, 2014-2015). He also went with Saban to Miami for Saban's NFL year...Jason Garrett and Scott Linehan were on that staff btw, as was our Dir. of Pro Scouting, Judd Garrett.

Apparently there was a recruiting violation at Alabama that resulted in Davis' resignation.

He's also a former WR which speaks to his athleticism.

Considering Stephen Jones' recent quote:
"It's probably a little early to be specific at this point. You always want to take the best player on your board. We have needs -- obviously all teams do when you have a salary cap -- but if I were guessing right now it would probably be another defensive lineman. We want to continue to put resources into our defensive line so we can be dominant in that area, but certainly we'll look at everything as the year closes."

..it would be quite an impact if we somehow landed Davenport and equally impressive Tavon Bryan from Florida with our first two picks.

If Randy Gregory makes it back, that's just gravy.

Big fan of this guy. I would be shocked top fifteen but he is climbing for sure.

Last time the Cowboys took a DE from a small time school it worked out pretty well for them.

As a UTSA alum and obviously NOT a homer.... SIGN ME UP! Dude is a freak. We would finally have a legit weak side speed rusher.
