News: NFL: Sam Howell on earning QB2 job: 'The work doesn't stop now'

That's what some content guys were talking about. Maybe voch. About how Joe wasn't kissing daks butt but Sam would gladly do it. Wouldn't shock me. I don't buy Dak being threatened by Joe but I do think Sam fits the "role" of a backup better than a guy who wanted drake Mayes job
are you really still on this ridiculous nonsense that you think Milton still better than sam, and that Milton deserves the qb2 job only because he wasn't going to pressure Dak and lick boots he lost it, are you really thinking that Milton is the better guy, you just won't let it go let it go?!!

Milton did not earn it, it was close but attitude is important, the butt kissing is hilarious that never is what was said or implied..know your role , milton and Blue talked to much trash for being 3rd stringers!!

thats the issue..comete hard but leave the bmoc nonsense at your parking spot..

Milton was trash in college, bad last year , and made strides this year but needs another offseaosn, greta PS, and than maybe you all wioll realize he was not ready yet..

its far more then skillset ie a big arm and wheels, its being under center, reading the blitz or prsusres , making audibles and changes quickly, it was clear Howell has done this in far more real asiautions and accring to BS , its why he wonthe jopb..

execution was close, the rest WAS NOT!! it was obvious they went with experience..

i called this weeks ago, Sam would have had to be terrible to lose qb2, he wasnt..

Washington Commanders - 2022–2023 Drafted by Washington in the 5th round (No. 144) in 2022.
Seattle Seahawks - 2024
Minnesota Vikings - 2025
Philadelphia Eagles - 2025
Dallas Cowboys - 2026–present

He knows his way around NFL locker rooms. That experience is another reason why the Cowboys made him #2.
:hammer:

Then Schotty and Stephen Jones and the media are all lying. Errrroneeous....erod.
Just take your L. Geez dude, it's ok.

The coaches aren't going to trash him in the media. Howell destroyed took him camp with knowledge and play against real defenses and players.

That's why nobody wants him on their 53.

So glad he won't come up again after the real season starts

Man, I am not getting your Milton stance. It makes me feel like you are just overall "bitter". Joe Milton has never been good. The argument to me is like the Quincy supporters. Sure, Milton has a rocket arm but so did Jeff George. I personally like that Schotty has gotten some "say so" on the team. IMO, Jerry had a lot of egg on his face from last season. Pushed his buddy Eberflus on Schotty.. Schotty proceeded to produce a top 5 Offense while the Defense was ALL WORLD bad.

I kind of like the way it is going. Now do I think Schotty is Jimmy? NO WAY but I prefer Jerry's coaches making him look/proven dumb when possible.

I never said Joe Milton is "good". He's a prospect. So was Romo...he got 3.5 years before his first start. But Parcells was on his rear-end honing him into a decent QB. Maybe Milton does not deserve that investment...but we SHOULD be doing that instead of staring down giving Dak another crazy contract. Trying to "win now" is fool's gold: You're not winning with Dak. I've made this determination years ago - as would Sean McVey and/or Andy Reid by now. He's just good enough to get you beat when it counts. That means we should not be turning up our nose at QBs.

I could take your post and replace "Milton" with "Howell" and wouldn't miss a beat.

We agree and always have on Dak. LOL

You did say “maybe.” Definitely not Voch. His take was Milton and Blue were released for similar reasons. He said Milton let his old problems resurface in that final game, not reading the defense, missing an easy throw, missing over the middle with no touch, and he thought that made the coaches feel they still hadn’t gotten that out of Joe and can’t trust him. He also mentioned the extra time on the field, the extra film time. He closed by saying Sam is a better fit for the offense and has a much higher floor in order to run the offense. Cerebral, pocket passer, on time with throws to the right guys. So if Dak misses a couple games, Sam isn’t Dak, but his style is the same and you don’t have to change the offense to fit Sam like you would for Milton.

Voch was just guessing as well, but he thought keeping Sam over Joe made perfect sense.
