Fans should try following him on a couple of running plays and even short pass plays. He's typically in hunting mode and it doesn't end until the whistle blows.

That's what leadership looks like. It's not talk, bravado, "charisma", or any other such nonsense. It's "do it the way you see me do it". It's by example.

During the 2014 playoffs, Lawrence's rookie season, the Dallas Cowboys are playing the Detroit Lions. At the two minute warning the Cowboys are ahead 24-20 but the Lions have the ball and they are driving.

Both Lawrence and Anthony Spencer charge Stafford and Spencer forced the fumble which Lawrence recovers. Howeveer, he attempts to run with the ball and fumbles. The ball is recovered by the Lions. Lawrence is already in the doghouse for a ten yard penalty during a special teams play. The Lions are in Cowboys territory with a minute to play and some timeouts.

A few plays later, Lawrence bursts in, forces the fumble and recovers the fumble. Game over. Romo kneels twice.

Lawrence didn't pity himself. He didn't wallow in regret. He went back out there and redeemed himself. Lawerence had issues early in his career but accepting accountability and taking action to correct it was always his response. Again, that's leadership, even as a rookie.

Yup…..every time I used to see Rodgers drive down the field against our defense for yet another game winning touchdown, I was just thankful for his leadership…..strip sacks to end a game mean a lot less than leadership
Hahaha yep the leadership that talks but through his mouth not his play. Lawrence would disappear through stretches of games and some games was a non factor. Sounds like another leader we have.

Lawrence has needed to be what he finally is: a role player. He now plays Robin to Micah’s Batman, which is always what he needed. He is good but not good enough to be the guy that offenses need to game plan around.

With teams focusing on Parsons, he can make some plays now.

I would say he’s had moments of greatness mixed with moments of going AWOL

Bosa and Parsons are more of what we call difference makers

having said that, I am grateful that hes a Cowboy and I am impressed with his numbers against the run
Lawrence is a solid player but he is far from great. He was showing it in 2017 and parts of 2018 but the reality is as soon as he signed that big deal he has been downhill. I am too lazy to do it again but I showed an analysis here between him and Bosa and the difference was night and day. Bosa is a great player. Lawrence can’t touch him. I dare say that with Fowler, Williams, Armstrong, Parsons he may be the 5th best pass rusher on the team.

I am not knocking the guy. He is serviceable and still has his moments but he is far from great.

thats all I’m saying too…..what’s funny is how some here get triggered by an opinion like this

they have to have us all worship at the temple of “ every Cowboy player is the best at his position” and start with the insults and things of that nature

can you imagine how lame and fake this forum would be if we engaged in groupthink?

having said that, I welcome any and all debate on any subject….but I will not insult anyone nor will I question any ones fandom just because I don’t agree with them

Parsons is going to elevate several , he is the catalyst this D needed.
Even without a Sam Williams or Damone Clark on this roster, this defense would be solid.
If some of the youth takes that next step its going to get ugly quickly for OCs in this league.

I think Sam Williams is going to be a beast this season.
