If the Cowboys have a pool of several players with about the same grade on their board at 26, I'd love to see a small trade down (6-7 spots perhaps) and pick up a late 3rd rounder in the 90's. There will be a lot of good players available then and having an extra pick would be awesome.

The hardest part is finding a trading partner who actually loves in love with a prospect.

That's the part that is sometimes overlooked. The value chart is a great guide, but if you really want to trade (up or down) sometimes you're going to have to give (or get) a little more juice to make the deal.

But I'm glad @big dog cowboy posted the link. It's fun to see how actual draft day trades compare to it.

I remember when the Cowboys moved back with the 49ers to get Frederick, they should of gotten a 2nd rd pick, but settled for a 3rd, the trade did work out as they drafted Terrence Williams with that pick.

Both teams can have the chart, but if you're more interested in moving than I am I'm going to ask for a bit more. How badly do you want to move? Squeeze the juice.

Before you ask, NO this isn't mine. I just save this site for reference each year.
I find it very strange that there isn't a step-change in value from the last pick of the 1st round to the 1st pick of the 2nd. It implies that teams don't value the 5th-year option at all, which is hard to believe. Maybe I'll go back and look at recent trades that cross that boundary, when I have a bit of time. My suspicion is that you can demand a little more from a team trading into the first.
