So Nike released these shoes that are glow in the dark Galaxy themed Foamposite shoes. They retail at $220, and are literally selling anywhere from 1,000 -35,000 per pair on ebay. This is insane. Not to mention they are ugly shoes in the first place.

No thanks, I like my Air Burst Premiums better

And these costed me regular Nike sneaker price, despite being DS+limited to begin with, 4 years out and found in a warehouse in Scandinavia somewhere(all info was in finish or dutch inside the box).

I don't get it.

Those shoes were ugly when they came out 20 years ago or whenever.
My brother sold a used pair of the originals for over $200 about 10 years ago.

I love all types of sneakers, but the foamposite sneakers have always looked stupid. This is the worst pair they came out with.

I will admit that I have plenty of sneakers. Some I paid a lot for some barely anything.

To fix the problem, I think they should do like a lottery with these shoes. Online results, in-store only sign ups. Sign up for them and if you "win" them, you pay within 48 hours or someone else in the lottery has a chance. This in-store stupidity is going to cause more problems.

The headache is not worth it.

I was just trying to buy a new pair of sneakers the other day and it was ridiculous. I've never seen so many pairs of sneakers with all these loud colors and ridiculous styles.

I might be the last person in the country that wants plain, white sneakers with maybe one accent color at most.

That aren't that expensive. :D

Plus, Nikes don't fit my foot very well because the toe box is really narrow. Perhaps tmi, sorry. :p:

I eventually went with these New Balance ones that are a better fit for my foot shape. Not nearly as hip and cool as Nikes, but I'm past the age of giving a crap about my sneaker brands.

Yeah, a lot of the New Balance lasts feature wider toe boxes... that's precisely why I wear them... well, that and the fact they're so LIGHT; I bought a pair of M630s last week (navy blue mesh with a big white N on the sides), the two combined weigh in at just under 9 ounces... it's like wearing slippers...

Ordered them through the New Balance website-- I take a 4E width, good luck finding that in the stores-- and it came to right around 75 bucks, with the shipping... not too outrageous, though of course they have more expensive models, one of which that I saw retails for like 265 bucks...

The bidding got up to 66,000 on one pair last night. Somehow 65 people participated. How dumb is that? That is two nice cars, or a huge down payment on a house to drop on shoes.

You are not the last . Finding plain sneakers is next to impossible . After my last pair wore out , I didn't even go to the trouble to replace them . I don't care for the bright colors .

I'd be willing to bet that the folks bidding aren't missing $60 K. For the average person though I agree with you. Stupid to drop that kind of money on footwear, when you can do so much more with it.

Spending more than a few hundred bucks on sneakers is simply stupid. Especially those ugly sneakers.

I think most of the time you can get a pretty nice pair of kicks for around the $100 price point.

Plain whites are easy to find. You guys are just not looking for the right ones.

Personally, I still like just a little color (logo or sole) on my white sneakers, but I have some wild sneaks too. Simply because I like having stuff that everyone else isn't wearing.

But here is a pic of a pair of whites I have in the closet as an example of a recent pair (3 years ago, still look like this) :
