Will say it again. There was no real impact from any of the 2023 draft picks. I get injuries, circumstances, learning curves, etc, but not having depth really hurts. Especially when this team doesn’t do much at all in Free Agency and leans on the draft. The defense was terrible and almost non existent. Really could’ve used a monster DT in the middle to spell Hankins, along with some linebackers that can really fill the gaps. TJ Bass provided the best depth/impact from the entire 2023 class and he was an UDFA. I get it, it doesn’t excuse Dak’s poor play, or play calling, but better depth could have helped this year.

This means absolutely nothing for this years failure. 49ers traded loads of draft picks for T. Lance. They never skipped a beat.

Patriots had plenty of failed drafts. Never skipped a beat with Brady.

This excuse that this draft class is the reason for this seasons failure is an ignorant take

Not to mention I can give you 100+ more examples

I don't get the excuses I have seen made about this draft. 1st and 2nd rd picks absolutely need to contribute.Mazi and Schoon are terrible players. Spare me they need time to develop. They have no talent at all to build on. A draft that will set us back for sure.

Who says it is all to blame? It's definitely an issue, though. For some reason, Will McClay gets this pat on the back for being some genius. Exactly what he built here?

Brady is the best QB ever. That kind of makes up for draft failures.

SF didn't miss a beat because they already had a solid foundation and all the parts ready. We don't and not even close so wasting entire drafts is bad, very bad.

Didn’t say it was THE reason. Did you read the entire post? Only said having better depth could have helped.

Agreed. 1st and 2nd round picks should be contributing in an impactful way.

Of course depth can help. Just saying. Stop making excuses for the root problem. The root problems are the qb and the coaches. That’s if we aren’t talking about dumb and dumber , of course.
