Let‘s face it….

• QB signed for league record, but still average to good QB. $60 million a year does not make him Patrick Mahomes.
• No running game last year. Got rid of best runner in Pollard and brought in gas fumes of Zeke and Cook as the saviors
• Gambled on 2 rookies on offensive line, and a RG/RT combo that showed obvious decline last year.
• Mazi is still a bust, and no one else of substance added at DT. Lost all depth at DE if the starters were to go out.
• Replaced injured LVE veteran with an injured Kendricks veteran. No substantial depth increase at LB other than Overshown back from ACL.
• Defensive coach still can’t stop the run only now we have less turnovers and pass rush to go with it.
• Offensive coach/HC still figuring out modern NFL offenses and time management.
• GM/Owner didn’t want to sign depth in free agency and still can’t build a championship team.
• GM/Owner still thinks lame duck coaching staffs can win even though we’ve seen them fall flat many times in Dallas.

Probably should have set expectations for the season low. There was no hint this team was going to rebound from that Green Bay smack down at home, or even keep another 12-5 record. Counting the days until we lose Coach Mac which won’t solve anything because Jethro still pulls the strings.

All true that you wrote. On paper from a talent perspective we backslid no doubt. Everyone who follows the NFL seriously could see we would be worse this year because of Salary cap issues related primarily to signing Cee Dee and Dak to record setting extensions. There simply is no money left to even sign solid complimentary talent.

FWIW, we have not drafted that well. Look at starters that came from the last 3 drafts. PS. Hint, you don't have to look hard.

All the above is on Jerry. There is zero limitations on spending money on coaches. He could have the best coaches in the league right now, but instead has lame duck coaches who know they will be out the door the first morning after the regular season is over.

Dak might not be average to good anymore. That is the biggest issue.
