None of us can predict this stuff

As a follower of the NFL and the Cowboys for decades, one of the very few things I can predict is the NFL is completely unpredictable. Whatever you think is going to happen is about as reliable as a rain dance. Today’s 34-26 win in Washington was one of the wildest roller coasters I’ve ever seen in a football game.

The Cowboys went into this game today against the 7-2 Commanders as a 10.5 point underdog, reeling from a 5 game losing streak where scoring even one touchdown would be an accomplishment. So who had the Cowboys scoring 31 points in the second half to win by 8? Not me. Or how about the Cowboys giving up an 86 yard TD pass leading by 7 and the commodes without a timeout, only to see their kicker shank a PAT to basically blow the game?

So I’m already seeing many fans here “predicting” that the Cowboys “could go on a win streak and maybe make the playoffs”. Have those fans been paying attention at all this year?

All I’m saying here is none of us know what’s going to happen. If the horrible giants and their lousy QB Joey DeVito come into AT&T this Thursday and beat the Cowboys I won’t be at all surprised.

There are two things I believe at this point. 1. The NFL is completely unpredictable and 2. The 2024 Dallas Cowboys are still not a very good team.

The takeaways from today’s game:
  1. Quinn and his ST coach are idiots for kicking to Turpin.
  2. The Cowboys deserved to lose after giving up that 86 yard TD to the Commanders who had no timeouts! Good teams don’t give up plays like that.
  3. This was not a “convincing win” in my mind today. We played better than we had played since that Pitts game for sure but we also had some amazing good fortune we haven’t had at all this season.

For the first time in a long while it didn’t feel as if Dallas was out coached, which I was sure would happen today.

If any players are quitting is isn’t very noticeable, especially Lamb.

Didn’t notice much of a drop with the guards out. Against Wash DL, very surprising.

Yep, this league is impossible. No clue how anyone attempts to win money on predicting outcomes.

Yeah Dan Quinn looked like the dumb coach instead of Big Mac today. DQ needs to be ripped in Washington for the hare brained decision to kick to Turpin. Why risk that?

If the Oline shows up and blocks, while the Defense shows up and makes stops, this team can win the next 4 games. Some of us have said as much would happen if our trenches showed up to play.

That kicker is a mess. Maybe he can’t do a touchback at will.

One of the strangest games I’ve seen.

Yes, losing to the Giants with Danny DeVito at QB would be the most Cowboys thing we could do this week. Of course, we're also playing our backup QB, the great Gold Rush, so it absolutely would not be a surprise. It wouldn't even be a surprise to me if we were playing our starting QB.

Although this is his first official kickoff TD, there's no way that I would ever kick to Turpin. There have been too many times that he's been just a hair away from breaking one.

I wonder if the Cowboys’ next four opponents think the same thing about their Oline and defense?

Doesn't matter. If our trenches on both sides show up to play, that gives us a fighting chance. We saw that result today against a 7 - 4 Washington Commanders team. Guess who won?
