Not so good stat so far

I was listening to Sirius NFL. They said that last year there were 36 illegal contact penalties in the NFL last year. So far, after week one of preseason, there were 15 called. I hope we are not in for another penalty fest this year.

Didn't the NFL say that illegal contact was a point of focus this year? That means early in the year we will see a lot of flags, then after fans start to complain they will back off.

I hope so…we are the most penalized team in the league. Don’t needs the refs looking for a reason to toss more flags.

They are trying to make a point. If that trend continued into the regular season there would be rioting in the streets.

Yes plus I seem to recall it being said somewhere that refs tend to go overboard in preseason with calls, especially in areas of a point of emphasis, in the preseason to drill into the players what is a penalty and not.

After the Denver you have to wonder if this is the norm around here. Once again the officials made it rain little yellow flags, the only thing I'm trying to figure out is why do the Cowboys always participate in the official's little rain games??????? Ha-Haaaaaaaa!

Yep. Probably right there. Could’ve won a extra game or two. Buccs and Raiders for sure could’ve been snagged.
