I really believe the team is going to use fa to fortify this position, but with Stephen and his cheap ways, they may just go that route again and sign another Watkins type.

-Saiki Ika Baylor-the so called poor man's Vea.
-Mazi Smith Michigan-the #1 on the athletic freaks list
-Gervin Dexter Florida/Keeanu Benton Wisconsin-can play either 1 or the 3T.

All of these prospects appear to be more 2nd rounders.

Mazi Smith went up against a top 100 player vs TCU. Watch that game and see if you think he'd change things. I'm not saying he would or wouldn't

I really believe this team is gonna aim to re-sign FA Jon Hankins to a 2 year contract, ..and draft another developing NT in the late rounds, ..just as they have done
the last two years. Ala Bohanna, and Ridgeway.

That's the Jones 1 tech low regards mentality.

A'Shaun Robinson from the Rams, is going to be cheap, but would be an excellent value signing. He was one of the reasons why the Rams were so good against the run during their SB run 2 years ago. I would resign Hankins and add a player like Robinson. Think his estimated contract value is like 3 million per year. Probably right about how they usually would address the position.

All three are most likely 1st rounders. Too many scouts are going to squint and see Vita Vea in Ika and he'll go top 20. Smith will probably get over drafted with a good combine.

There are some good day 2 guys still though. Keanu Benton and Keondre Corburn

If you want Ika, you'd have to trade back to get him in the 2nd. Or you just take him in the first. But I'd argue WR is more important at this point.

On some levels, one of the areas in which Moore failed at his job was not implementing Tolbert.

But I think the reasoning could have been that we were so close to winning the division and they didn't want to chance it on a rookie.

Then again, they really needed some help and they never found a place for him to contribute.

I think McCarthy may be in over his head as far as coaching up players on technical aspects of the game.

Sign Hankins and maybe sign another free agent.

they will sign another bargain binge vet guy , on same dollar amount as a Carlos Watkins ..

i don't see them signing another known name FA on the same dollar amount as Hankins could (will?) sign for.

Our only hope is Quinn said he needed one and they went out and traded for Hankins. Something they never would of did in the past.

Really are hoping the team addresses #2 WR and a NT in fa or trade markets. This would open up the draft needing just a corner and then they can load up on the offense.

I like K. Benton, M. Smith, and J. Clark out of this draft group. Personally I don't look for Dallas to do much here. I think Hankins probably earned another 1 year deal. DL take a while to develop and Dallas is not going to quit on Bohannon yet, so he'll be in the mix as well. Same could be said for receiver. While we all know they need help there, don't think for a second that Tolbert, Houston, and even D. Drummond aren't in their plans to a degree. The NFL is tough and these are all you kids who are still developing.

I could see them doing absolutely anything in free agency.

IMO Ika is the best now but I think he’s been on a pitch count due to his size so hard so justify him in the 1st. Maxi probably has the highest upside but already pretty stout against the run.

I like this class to add a NT just no one in round 1.

Nose Tackle will be most likely be taken care of by bringing back Hankins and drafting a NT on day 3 to compete with Bohanna. If we go DT early it will be a pass rushing 3T

Just sign someone in FA. They don’t care about the position. Everything they do shows you it’s the least important position on team.

I think that’s a smart move. The run D turned around once we signed him.
