The NFL is only six weeks into the season. I can tell you who is playing at a high level right now, but that does not mean they are elite necessarily.

Who was the elite team in the NFC last year? NY Giants or Arizona Cardinals?

I would not crown the Saints, Vikings, or Giants just yet.

So don't crown a champion till after the championship? Got it.

Guess I did miss it. Thought "cream of the cream" was a mishap. Never heard anyone say "elite of the elite" because it kind of defeats the purpose of labeling something as "elite".

You thought that "creme de la creme" is a "mishap" (unlucky outcome)? Cream of the cream (English translation) simply means "highest of the high" or "best of the best".

Never heard of "elite of the elite" either, but I'm sure you've heard "best of the best" before.
