I have been watching something since the first game this year, and it just appears even more evident after todays game. We have what many of us thought to be a solid offensive line. The first three games I think all of us could say that we had good pass protection, but something has been wrong with our run blocking.
The problem is, our O-line is not coordinated. They may win match-ups on paper, but they do not work together very well. I attribute this to our O-line coach. Whatever the offensive line is supposed to be doing, they are not doing right. We talk about defensive schemes, but the offensive line has its own. There are usually 4 down lineman and whatever blitzers the opponent sends, our O-line needs to do a better job of knowing who to pick up, and who is picking up whom.
This is what I believe to be the biggest contributor to the running game struggling.
