  • Unknown of Jabril Cox, need to see more play from him. Damone Clark needs to keep improving as he gets more game-time experience.
  • Micah Parsons looks to be wearing down badly as the season is about to finish. Will be interesting to see what Dan Quinn schemes going into the playoffs to help Micah better execute for the Cowboys Defense.
  • Sam Williams has been very close (within a split second many times) of getting to the QB during pass rush. Will be interesting to see if he improves come playoff time.
  • Rest of Defense shows promise, especially with backup changes in the secondary and young linebackers getting much needed game-time experience. Secondary and linebacker improvement will be key entering the playoffs.
  • Looking forward to return of injured Defensive veterans like LVE and Johnathan Hankins in time for the playoffs.

Because of the lack of snaps for Cox he is way behind where he should be in his second year. I am concerned the Cowboys are not sure what to do with him.

I think they considered using him the way they use Kearse, but the safety room is just really crowded and Cox is not really the kind of linebacker to take on blocks. I'm a little disappointed.

His draft profile stated he is more a coverage linebacker, which usually means a smaller player usually faster than most linebackers but size or technique wise not great against the run. Smacking a Daniel Jones on scramble is different than hitting a Zeke on an off tackle run.

Wright is also rounding into form. He has played better every game that he has been in there. I don't think we will see the best of his ability until the 2023 season, but I am starting to come around on him.

Law was saying just what I've been saying. Parsons is better in the middle, because he can get pressure from there.

You have guys who can get you pressure from the EDGE. No one else who can give you more pressure up the middle than Parsons, so you can get more pressure overall with Parsons coming from other areas.

True. Other times, Parsons does well coming off the edge. Need to mix Parsons from different areas in order to confuse the opposing Oline.

It is much harder to plan for a guy when you know where he is coming from every play. He is significantly better moving around than staying in one spot

This season the path has been set, as in, DQ is going have Micah on the Edge. LVE will be back, so Clark will be rotating n Jabril will be on the bench, if he's even active. Sam has to do more to make an impact.

However, for 2023...Micah, Damone, Jabril n Harper need to be the LBs. That's speed, coverage, run stopping and pass rushing from the LB spot. McClay needs to add a space eating NT or re-sign Hankins for the run. Give Sam a off-season of preparation, and I think he will take a step forward in his development towards a big time DE.

A lot of young talent on defense. They have a bright future.

However, this isn't the future. Presently, the Cowboys have about 4 rookies and 5 2nd year players that play a significant role. That is a lot of NFL inexperience.

They can be misdirected. They can be fooled. They can be picked on by experienced QB's and HC's They can be enticed to move before the snap. Their aggressiveness can be used against them

The most experienced Cowboys on defense were the two CB's they lost for the season. They are now replaced by a rookie and 2nd year player

This defense must get takeaways during the postseason in order for the Cowboys to advance. They are capable.
