Time to destroy this idiotic myth that the offense "struggled" Sunday night.

We know the defense was spectacular and the FG block TD was enormous.

Now let's talk offense.

Dallas scored 27 points in 7 drives (3.9 points per drive) with Dak at QB.

On what planet is that "bad" or "sputtering" like I've been reading here??????

3.9 points per drive is "bad"????

It would literally be #1 in the NFL BY A MILE if we kept up that pace for a season.

NFL average for all teams in Week 1 was 1.65 points per drive, and we more than doubled that.

Oh, and we did it in pouring rain, on the road.

Excellent start to the season from ALL 3 phases.

I don't argue the premise, but I would compare to NFL average of winning teams and not all teams ( NYG, Bengals, Steelers, and Panthers drop the average significantly with only 20 points scored in total by all 5 teams)

i wouldnt say fantastic, but they did exactly what they needed to do, get some time consuming drives goin, run the ball effectively, and keep the ball safe. They did exactly that and with this defense thats all they need to do, anything more is a bonus.

In 2022, teams averaged 1.92 points per drive over the course of the full season.

So we still more than doubled that output Sunday night.

Fantastic is not a big enough word. I would say that they were prolific and any description short of that is just short of hatred. It was exciting to see the Juggernaut finally unleashed in it full fury as they rained down an arial show that history will never repeat nor forget

I just want to make sure that we all remember where we were when that performance took place .

Fantastic seems like a pretty low bar IMO, but I agree completely that the offense wasn't terrible as some of the chatter seems to suggest. Overall it just feels like they have an incomplete grade. They didn't do much on Sunday because they really didn't need to do much. I can't punish them for that and moving to a conservative game play mid game they did almost everything you could have asked. 27 points off of 265 total yards isn't sustainable though.

The impressive piece to me is the first two offensive drives combined for 20 plays and 130+ yards. Downside to those is they only resulted in two FGs. Something to keep an eye on there, my guess is it is not nearly as big of a concern if the TEs can step up.

not just that, but they had excellent field position all night against a demoralized opponent. yes the results are all that matters, yes on paper it sounds great, but watching it play out there’s some cleaning up to do and I expect they will

Not to put this down. If the Giants score on the first drive, it’s a completely different game. We were only going three points instead of seven at first.

I would agree. They had a short field for a 38 yard TD drive in the 2nd quarter and the second half they were playing a team that was completely demoralized and had to be staring at the clock the whole time.

Still the first couple scoring drives of the game when this was competitive were 9 plays and 11 plays, both resulting in fgs, so they were able to move the ball.
