if colombo is signed wow, things get turned around quick with parcells and his its my way and only my way attitude not around. im starting to love whats going to be fielded this yr. especially on the OL thinking that colombo will be signed.

QB: Romo clearly the cornerstone of the franchise. with a yr under his belt this guy i say is going to take off without parcells constant shots at him.

Romo for 3300 - 3700 yrds 27-35 tds

While i think Barber might be the better back, i think julius gets the nod again and explodes. With a OL that can block and make holes and nomore parcells and his bang it straight ahead mentality. Hopefully Julius hasnt forgotten how to juke.

Barber will still be the short yard guy the TD guy and the 3rd down guy. And if JJ doesnt get off quick, Barber will be Thee Guy.

Julius 1000-1300 yrds 5-7 tds
Barber 500 -650 yrds 10-15 tds

WR is not a problem with this team. All the haters please just skip this and move on to TE. Owens is going to show everybody that he's still the best Wr in the game. Still no problems, and no distractions. No matter how hard espn or any other media outlet, or your typical stupid fan try to make one up. Owens is clean, and is happy. He has his money, he has his QB who says his number 1 priority is to get Owens the ball. and lastly the guy has a legit guy opposite him in glenn on the other side. Dallas needs to get him involved in crossing and slant routes this yr. and work him in the slot aswell. Move him aroun and you'll see even more production then last yr. In most cases he was on the backside of most plays that pinned him on the sideline. That's just real stupid planning by parcells and the coaches.

Glenn just needs to keep doing what he does. get the tough catch, and show the speed.

While dallas has other wr's and probably one in the draft. none will have that much of an impact with owens, glenn and witten taking most of the balls.

Owen 90 1200-1400yrds 12-15 tds
Glenn 70 1000-1200yrds 6-10 tds

Jason Witten will get back in the groove this yr. mostly because of the the OL(of course this is all thinking colombo will be signed). less block and more causing havoc in the middle of the field. abusing lb'ers and s'.

Witten 50-65 650-800 yrds 5-7 tds

OL will be the important ingredient for this teams success. creating holes in the middle and letting Julius cut to the backside will be vital. and the typical bullrush type blocking thats nto been in dallas for a very long time will be back. Pass protecting and allowing Romo time will be amazing to watch him pick apart teams. In 06 with below averaging block he was still very accurate, imagine with a OL that can keep him upright? this team is going places this yr.

Starting 5
flozell, kosier, gurode, davis, colombo(im hoping)

it's real early but i dont care, dallas signs colombo and they're in the superbowl. mark it down

I agree with everything you said my friend. Good post. Now we just have to get Columbo back, I'm very excited also.

lol now while i dont like the johnson backup signing. ill admit that the guy knows how to read defenses and can only help with the growing of romo.

garrett
wilson
johnson

my god romo has no reason to not be prepared come opening day. i dont know of any qb who wouldnt like to have these guys knowledge on how to play the posistion

To my knowledge, Brad Johnson is known for his good game management and smart decisions with the ball... this is an area that Tony could definitely improve on. So, hopefully he'll learn from Brad in that area of the game.

Brad is also very good at getting rid of the ball quickly, another skill Romo needs to use more often

I agree, Brad Johnson is a very good game manager and a smart player so Romo could definitely benifit from it...

Tony has learned from Vinnie, Bledsoe, and now Brad....not too shabby. He has also learned from Payton and Parcells.......now Garrett and Wilson.

Romo definitely has a lot of notes to read up on and learn from....lots of game film as well.

I like where your going with the post,, but I doubt our SB hopes rest on a often injured RT that has one year of actual playing experience. I hope we can resign him, but if not, I don't think it will have a HUGE impact on the team or on the play of the line.

It's never too early for optimism. Great post man. I share your positive outlook on things. Hopefully we lock up Colombo soon and the "our oline is badder than yours" party can commence.

How's it feel to be the only Cowboy fan with that opinion?

Everyone else that I've seen post on any Cowboys forum views Colombo as a vital piece to our offensive line success.

Colombo had 1 MAJOR injury and it took him 2 years to recover from it. Often injured would be a player that is injured multiple times... not a guy that suffered 1 major injury in his career.

great post!!!!!!

Darn, I was about to jump all over that stupid post about Colombo being "often injured" when TEK beat me to it.

i think some people forget how the little things can affect the team. while colombo isnt the greatest player, he's stilla part that keeps the offense moving good. i think people kind of forgot about 2005, and thought because colombo could do it in 06 anybody can. but as we've learned over th last 10 yrs. thats not true

We have LEARNED THE HARD WAY that getting good O linemen is not easy.
