I know I posted this on some threads already but I think it deserves some special attention.
Why do we continue to send TO streaking down sideline?
#1 - He runs a poor route. He stays outside leaving no space for Romo to make a pass. John Madden pointed it out several times and I think most of us know this as well.
#2 - Yes I know he has dropped passes all over the field on many different routes but it seems like he struggles with the over-the-shoulder attempts. Maybe I am making this up because the Washington game still sticks out in my head.
#3 - TO has been a guy who makes things happen after he catches the ball. He is great in the YAC category every year. More slants and short routes might be the answer to get this guy involved early and keep his head in the game. The deep ball to him is just attracting safeties to help over the top creating a double team and a riskier pass.
Why isnt Terry Glenn running the deep patterns?
#1 - Glenn is running more slants than TO. He runs a great route and makes a catch but this pattern is great for guy who can make plays happen via strength and his legs.
#2 - How many times did we see Glenn make spectacular down field catches, espicially in the corner of endzones. Just seems like we are wasting one of the better deep threats in the NFL.
Again. I know people have been testy so I pologize if you read some of this in another thread but like I said I think it needs some attention.
(not that we can influence the play calling or anything)
