I'm sure everybody has seen the video by now. That was an abomination to all organized sports everywhere.

What I'm wondering about is this. Have you seen the interviews with Coker (head coach) and Shalala (UM President)? To me they've been as disturbing as the episode itself.

Coker claims that he doesn't have good kids on his team, they're all great kids. Shalala claims that the University won't throw anybody under the bus just to clear their name.

It sounds to me, from listening to their interviews, like nearly everyone involved is going to get a free pass. One player has been suspended for the Duke game (WOO-HOO) and another has been suspended indefinitely. Other than that nothing else has been mentioned.

Miami won't do much because it will cost them money to suspend several football players for long periods of time.

Money rules in College Sports.

ps, Wrong forum.

Agreed.

But I thought I heard or read that Shalala (sp?) also said from now on it will be a zero tolerance situation so maybe it will change if it happens again...I doubt it.

Shouldn't they already have a zero tolerance policy for this kind of thing. Unbelievable.

College Football and in some cases depending on the school College basketball are BIG BIG Business.

These schools get butt loads, J Lo butt loads, of cash from Football and Basketball.

Do you really think they would do too much to hurt themselves if they had the choice?

See smaller schools can do the right thing because they are not making that kind of money. Larger schools are normally a different story.

I hear you. I know money is important, but it is amazing that this would happen, and not much punishment would take place on Miami's side.
