This is what I would like to see and am sure many fans will agree, disagree, agree to disagree and for absolute sure Jerry won't care a bit but here goes.

2018 Cowboys off-season
1. Fire Scott Linehan and bring in some fresh ideas especially a coach that can work with Dak's strengths.

2. Fire Wade Wilson for we need a guy that can work with young QBs in today's NFL

3. If Marinelli retires and not sure he will, promote Eberflus or hire Brent Venables away from Clemson.

4. Dez Bryant should either take a pay cut or be released, he is no longer a #1 target and is hurting the progression of Dak in the coaching staff forcing him to throw to him.

5. Jason Witten should take a pay cut although him retiring isn't out of the question and if he does retire, hire him as the TE coach.

6. Restructure the contracts of Tyron Smith and Travis Frederick.

7. Sign Demarcus Lawrence, David Irving, and Anthony Hitchens to 5 year deals.

8. Sign Jonathan Cooper and L.P. Ladouceur to 3 year deals.

9. Sign Zach Martin to a 7 year deal.

10. Resign Joe Looney and Keith Smith to one year deals with an option for a second year.

11. Trade Orlando Scandrick to Seattle for Earl Thomas, it helps both teams and could extend Thomas to help on the cap.

12. Although we will not do much in free agency, I do believe we could sign Allen Robinson II WR Jacksonville and Greg Robinson OT Detroit to make or break contracts. Dallas does have a good history of taking bust OL guys and getting something out of them. Robinson needs a change of teams coming off an ACL.

13. Say goodbye to Brice Butler, Chaz Green, Byron Bell, and a few others.

Draft
1st round - Marcus Davenport DE UTSA, yes a small school guy and maybe we don't need a DE but in the 1st round you take the best player available regardless. He reminds me of a Demarcus Ware/Lawrence Taylor type of guy and a great DL sure would make up for a lot of ills.

1st round - in a trade with Buffalo for pick 25 (guessing) for 2019 1st round choice, Dallas selects Calvin Ridley WR Alabama. Dallas gets WR with speed that can stretch the field and get separation. He along with Allen Robinson and Noah Brown will bring about a far better receiving corp along with Beasley and Switzer.

2nd round - Roquan Smith LB Georgia, he can play inside or outside, has very similar instincts like Lee in that he knows the play and where to go before anyone else. Only 6'1" but very fast and sure tackler who you would love to have playing with Lee, Smith and Hitchens and would make the best LB corp we have ever had.

3rd round - Dallas Goedert TE SDSU, great pass catcher, great route runner, very good blocker, good speed, hard worker and great overall player, could be a Witten off the bat.

4th round - Godwin Igwebulke S Northwestern, underrated safety prospect that should remind many of Landon Collins, has a great skill set and learning from Earl Thomas would be a good thing.

4th round comp - Mitch Hyatt OT Clemson, may never be a every down starter but as a swing OT and occasional starter you have a great player, with the right attitude, hard worker and leader, might not be Smith but close to be as good as Collings

4th round comp - Bo Scarbough RB Alabama, strong runner, faster than most think, punishes the defense and good blocker and pass catcher. He along with Zeke and R. Smith would give us one helluva RB corp.

5th round - traded away last year

5th round comp - Larry Allen III OG Harvard, many will disagree but this kid is a player and with a couple of years of seasoning will be our LG for many years. He would be a steal in the 5th round.

6th round - Dalton Schultz TE Stanford, sure 2 TEs, and why not, Dalton is as steady as any and really believe the overall skills he and Goedert have are far better than any of our current TE with the exception of Witten, and better overall skills than any of the TEs in the draft (yes Andrews is faster and a better pass catcher but poor route runner and blocker)

7th round - ????

2018 Roster
LT - Tyron Smith, Mitch Hyatt
LG - Jonathan Cooper, Larry Allen III
C - Travis Frederick
RG - Zack Martin, Joe Looney
RT - La’el Collins, Jarron Jones
TE - Jason Witten, Rico Gathers, Dallas Goedert, Dalton Schultz
WR – Dez Bryant*, Allen Robinson, Calvin Ridley, Noah Brown, Cole Beasley, Ryan Switzer, Terrance Williams (*if Bryant doesn't take a pay cut, then bye-bye)
QB - Dak Prescott, Cooper Rush
RB - Ezekiel Elliott, Rod Smith, Keith Smith, Bo Scarbough

LDE - Demarcus Lawrence, Taco Charlton, Charles Tapper
3TECH – Maliek Collins, Tyrone Crawford
1TECH – David Irving, Richard Ash
RDE – Marcus Davenport, Benson Mayowa, Randy Gregory
SAM – Roquan Smith, Damien Wilson
MIKE – Jaylon Smith, Anthony Hitchens
WILL – Sean Lee,
CB – Chidobe Awuzie,Byron Jones, Jourdan Lewis, Marquez White, Bene Benwikere
S – Kavon Frazier, Xavier Woods, Earl Thomas, Godwin Igwebulke

ST - Dan Bailey, Chris Jones, L.P. Ladouceur

I don't think Ridley slides to 25 and after the combine there is no way I see Roquan Smith sliding to the second round...I would not be shocked if Ro. Smith is taking before our pick in the first round.

Also if you trade up to Buffalo...Chances are they are going to want more than your next year's 1st round pick.

You put a lot of effort into that, so props, but your mock isn't realistic. Ridley is a top 15 pick. Smith and Goedert are 1st rounders. Doubtful Scarbrough lasts that long. You took Larry Allen's kid because he's Larry Allen's kid.

I would cry if the Cowboys sign Hitchens to a 5 year deal . That would reek of a team with the worst set of LBs in the league settling for the tallest midget in the room.

The Seahawks are still laughing at your trade offer.

I'm not sure what Prescott's strengths are. He can't throw, can't see the field, can't handle pressure around him. He wants to play a very conservative game because of his physical limitations. I'm not going to blame the OC for that. It's too fan convenient for me. I think you need a serious upgrade in talent there.

I agree with the offseason point, but also need to cut terrance williams after 1 june like Dez, I disagree with the draft points, we dont need more DEs, we need better couches, with the 1st pick the cowboys need to take the best WR, 2nd the best DT, 3st the best OT, 4th the best LB, then S, LB, OL, then need to be aggresive in the free agency, there are many good players available, need to take a WR, a S and G. and bingo the next season will be much better.

I would lose it if Ridley was there at our pick and we passed. If I found out about a week or so later we still ended up with him, I'd be surprised, but I would definitely be done watching the draft that weekend. Also, I don't think the mock is realistic at this point. A ton *can* change, but right now it isn't.

We need a deep threat WR. number one offensive need. Someone that can scare the D.
Number 2 offensive Need is a OT that can spot play as starter.

Number 1 D need is a REAL 1T. Big ol trash can full of dirt that is very hard to move. Strong and can push. Should be not that hard to find in the middle rounds.
Number 2 D need is another LB that can challenge to start.

Number 3 need on D is to find Lee's eventual replacement.

What a trash post. Can’t throw? What does that even mean. You’re not sure of his strengths because you are a football novice.

like RS said you worked your butt off on this and I appreciate that
Dont mess with Nellie. Linehan there is buzz
Some have suggested that we have enough space we dont rework contracts
Seattle trading Thomas for Orscan, please
This off season there is a chance JJones buys some talent. He has to be shocked.
You way under valued some in the draft.
Anybody that puts this out there needs a pat on the back but more reading is needed.

I think we definitely need a solid 1 technique before anything else on defense. It makes the rest of the DLine better as well as the LBs.

You can probably get Hitchens on a 3 year deal.

People around here overvalue how good he is. Don't take that the wrong way........... he's an important player for us given his role. But it's not like if he hits the open market, teams are going to be scrambling for him and paying him top dollar.
