American Idol to Diva J.Lo: No Thanks!
August 11, 2010
by: Ani Esmailian

Back to the drawing board! American Idol is reportedly reconsidering having Jennifer Lopez join the show as a judge because she's being a major diva.

J.Lo was thisssss close to closing a deal to join the 10th season of the show, but they dropped her because of her out of control demands.

“Her demands got out of hand,” a source tells People magazine. “Fox had just had enough.”

So if J.Lo is out, who would be her replacement? Nick Cannon thinks his wife Mariah Carey would be perfect for the job.

"You know what? She talks about it. She says, 'I would love to do that.' She is one of the greatest singers of our time; she would be great," Nick Cannon told The Hollywood Reporter of Mariah, who guest-mentored "Idol" contestants back in 2008. "I don't know if she has enough time, though, but if they could work with her schedule, I know she would love to do 'Idol.' Let's start the campaign!"

I like how they are trying to string out who's going to be the next judge to get people to like it again.

The show is done.

Mariah Carey

Shania Twain

Just some names I heard could be Plan B if the J.LO thing flatlines.

If they think J-Lo is a diva then they'd be in for a real shock if they tried to get Mariah Carey.

All I've ever heard/read about that woman is that she's one of the biggest divas out there. She'd probably make J-Lo look like a completely humble person in retrospect.

LOL. Exactly.

This show was really done a few seasons ago and has managed to keep going basically so people could watch Simon destroy the hearts and dreams of people.

Without him this show lost what last grasp of 'entertainment' it had for it's audience.

Shania would be okay. Shes someone that is respected in the business and was a huge success in her prime. Shes guest judged before and was okay.

I would prefer someone with more personality-Queen Latifah type personality-but would be okay with Shania. Im cool with J.LO too. Just no Jessica Simpson.
