ok, say we dont win the divison, say the Commanders do, and we wind up in a tie for 6th slot with green bay, since we beat green bay, green bay would go home right, and cowboys in playoffs?

way too much football left to worry about that stuff right now.

i know but i was just wondering, we have to win to my mind not 5 games but 6 games to get into the playoffs

tie breaking between two teams:

Two Clubs
1. Head-to-head (best won-lost-tied percentage in games between the clubs).
2. Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the division.
3. Best won-lost-tied percentage in common games.
4. Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the conference.
5. Strength of victory.
6. Strength of schedule.
7. Best combined ranking among conference teams in points scored and points allowed.
8. Best combined ranking among all teams in points scored and points allowed.
9. Best net points in common games.
10. Best net points in all games.
11. Best net touchdowns in all games.

Since we beat them head to head, we are set. We need to start winning more division games.

Lots of football left to worry about but yes, if it came down to Dallas and Greenbay for the final spot and we had the same record we'd get in and they'd go home cause we hold the tiebreaker by having defeated them.

I'm guessing that your premise is based on the fact GB doesn't win their division. In that case, yes. But comon' man.....we have half the season to go.

I seriously doubt that happens... especially since the Giants are playing with nothing to lose
