What do you guys think of the Thunder's recent trades? Did the Thunder improve by getting rid of Melo?

What direction are the Thunder headed? Can Donovan be a "good enough coach"?

Hard to say. Schroeder is an interesting addition. Big empty stats guy last year and pretty inefficient. But he looked like a rising star on a much better Hawks team the year before. Will be interesting to see what capacity he is used and how he performs.

Not much of a shooter, kinda of a meh facilitator, and doesnt play much defense . But he is a good slasher and he has the talent to be a good defender

Hopefully this thread gets some action. Thunder message boards are not very active.

OKC was tough to figure out last year.
Russ was outstanding but they struggled to live up to any hype.

But reality is a little different than perception.
OKC started like 8-12 then got hot and won 20+ out of the next 30.
Then they lost Andre Roberson who was their best defender.
And they kinda limped home at about .500 after that injury and were mediocre in the playoffs.

Assuming Roberson is healthy they are very much a 50 win team to me.

Carmelo: Losing him helps in that you don't have to stop down the offense so he can create.
And he's never been a guy you wanted on the court for anything other than 1st option scoring.

I like OKC's starting 5 A LOT and I think this team is pretty good but I do question it's depth.
PG actually looks good. Russ/Shroder/Felton is nice.
But I'm not a fan of depth really anywhere else.
For a team looking to actually reduce salary that's a weird deal.

I could actually see OKC be a good spot for a vet who is released (a la Carmelo).
Or for a cheap, young, solid 2 way guy that is buried on someone else's bench brought in via trade.

I like this post and I feel the same way. I actually like the bench more than last year. I'm hoping they catch lightning in a bottle. I hate GS and cupcake.
