Old school football

McCarthy called some old school I formation running plays,Sunday night.And it worked to perfection We will have a balanced offense to go with a turnover minded ,ultra aggressive defense. I am enjoying Hunter Leupke at fullback, leading the way for pollard. The passing game will get going when the run game is functioning .The Cowboys looked good, the best I have seen in a long time.

He needs to go more old school. No need to go-for it at the 45 when your defense is the strength of your team!
That type of logic is going to hurt us in the long run. When your defense domiantes, punt the ball! Every Time!

I think running out of the Iformation is especially important , because when defenses get wore down you can wear them out . Running a big fullback lets the halfback have more options in short yardage situations. Also teams will sometimes fail to cover the fullback leading to first downs when you desperately need one . And I think this Hunter Leupke is going to open running lanes ,protect Dak against the blitz , and catch passes for first downs while punishing defensive backs.Old shool football still has its place even in this pass happy league.
