Yep, and Washington was scared of us even before we were in the league. We had to buy the rights to there fighting song just to get in. Hail to the inappropriate name is what I believed it was called.

Cowards.

And the 63rd training camp will get underway in a little over two weeks from today - July 26th

Back in the day when Training Camp was real, no country club environment existed back in the day.
It was survival of the fittest, contracts were not the determining factor.
Players were part time athletes back then working regular jobs in offseason. Training Camp was to get into shape .

My uncle turned down a contract to play in NFL from Lombardi in 1961 cause it wasn’t enough to leave his regular job , move his wife and infant child to Green Bay with a 1,000 signing bonus and 10,000 a year.

Also turn the page back to the leather helmet era, the history of the NFL is amazing and the information available is a worthwhile venture, for any enthusiast to take on.
