Once again a few thoughts a day later

Just watched the game for the first time and here are my non emotional thoughts:

- once again a horrible start on offense. Wonder why they need some time to get going so often
- once Dak found his stride he never let go. Stellar in every way. He "answered his call" as Aikman out it. Let's hope he stays near the phone right into February.
- outstanding defensive game. BUT: I think Tampa had a game like we had against Washington. Only that ours meant nothing and theirs came at the wrong time (for them)
- most of Kellen's plays worked out. It almost felt like the game against Minnesota
- Zeke couldn't get anything going on the run, but had some good blocks
- so Dak can run again, huh? Seems like he has finally overcome the calf injury from last season
- no comment on Maher. Still like him though lol. Hope he bounces back
- refs had a couple of gifts for us this time. Non called PI, holding in the end zone and a couple of others... Ok
- LVE coming back seems to be a huge deal. He really is a major factor this year. Surprisingly but great non the less
- o line giving Dak so much time, outstanding. Let's see how Dak handles the pressure next week
- good CB play on both sides. Plus the safeties were clicking
- hope Russel Gage will be ok
- fans in Tampa showed quite some class, compete silence during his treatment

All in all we were in complete control. Lazy start but our defense kept it even. When Dak and the guys finally took off, it was over for TB. Won't be that easy against SF, but we're more than capable of beating them out into their precious bay. Let's go!

If you are talking about the PI that Aikman was calling for, I don't agree that was PI. Mukuamu did make contact within 5 yards, but came off that contact and made a good play on the ball from what I remember. I'd have to go back and look at it again to be sure, though.

The hold definitely should have been a penalty.

So...how did Tony do up the middle? Seems to me he got stuffed a lot too. 15 yards to the sideline didn't help any either. Two big plays because of Zeke's tough hustle.

Gage has improved condition. He'll be ok. (for now anyway).

Hopefully better than Brady did last night. I've never seen so many chuck-and-duck throws; he looked like a scared rookie. Father Time has finally won the battle.

It's tough sledding for Elliott when we can't get him any creases between the tackles. He just doesn't have the quickness to pop it around the edge. There were a couple of outside runs by Pollard where he just turned on the jets to shoot through the hole before it closed.

I've been an Elliott defender and I still think there could be a place on the team for him as the secondary back to Pollard if he's willing to take a big paycut, but Pollard can keep defenses from clogging the middle against the run while Elliott cannot. Now, Elliott can still turn a 1-yard run into a 3- or 4-yard run, but most of the time he's getting hit too much at or behind the line of scrimmage because defenses don't respect his ability to get around the corner.

Yeah that 3 and out in the first 13 seconds was a bit concerning but once the train got going, there was no stopping it.

Brady flat out tried to trip Malik Hooker didn't he???

Dropped passes killed them. Once Dak hit Gallup on the sideline, it was on!
A couple of bad throws, too. Dak's first-down pass to Lamb and third-down pass to Hilton on the first drive should have been completions. The WR screen to Lamb on second down was a very poor throw.

You left out how Gallup emerged as a threat in this game. Otherwise, accurate observations.
